Contributory parent visa (subclass 143) is one type permanent visa that permits the parents to settle in Australia. The parents must be Australian citizens and permanent residents. You can first apply for contributory parent (temporary) visa (subclass 173) before applying for contributory parent visa (subclass 143) though it is costly the cost is distributed in both visas. To be eligible for subclass 143 visa you must meet the balance of family test that is your child must be an Australian citizen and a permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen and half of your children must be living in Australia than in any other country. You must be sponsored to be eligible for this visa. The sponsor must be 18 years and above, Australian citizen and a permanent residence. The sponsor is allowed to sponsor more than one parent and the sponsor has financial and other required responsibilities over the parents. The parents must meet the health and character requirements. If at you have outstanding debt belonging to the Australian government, you are requested to clear it before you lodge the visa. You may not be eligible for contributory parent visa (subclass 143) if at you had a visa that was canceled or refused while you were in Australia. Contributory parent visa (subclass 143) allows you to sponsor an eligible relative, you are able to apply for Australian citizenship, stay, work and study in Australia, travel to and from Australia for 5 years and you can enroll in Medicare. The contributory parent visa (subclass 143) is paid in 2 installments. The cost is normally AUD 19,750 though you are entitled to pay other costs like for health assessment, biometrics, and police certificates. You must be in a place to get assurance support that includes a bond. You can either be in or outside Australia when making application for contributory parent visa (subclass143).
