Kitchen care - Home needs

Home Improvement,Ezine
As the time changes, the image of a modern kitchen has changed thanks to technology, human mind and innovation. In recent past, a kitchen was usually comprised of several separate elements, like a dresser, cooker, sink, table. Kitchen work occupied a significant part of a day and involved cooking, washing and preparation. These activities were done in their specified working zones, independent of each other, and long distances between particular zones had also made food preparation time longer. Home appliances especially kitchen were of great demand and it had occupied the major part of the kitchen.

With the arrival of fitted kitchens culinary work was revolutionised. Strictly defined functions and corresponding zones resulted in the rationalisation of cooking. Therefore, a change in requirements also became necessary. Apart from functionality of the kitchen, much emphasis is placed today on its perfect image. The kitchen turned from a workshop into a place where you should feel good. As a result, only such materials are used in the kitchen which are meant for use in a residential room. Quality of those materials was improved considerably in order to meet the kitchen use standards, but they also need special care, which is a question yet to be addressed. Check www.homeneedsonline.co.uk How to clean an oven: Firstly, always go for a regular wash just after the use. When you have heavy grease build up on the oven door, use white vinegar on it and keep it like that for fifteen minutes. Wipe it off with a clean damp rag. To clean up the fridge shelves and walls, a solution of water and vinegar (in equal proportion) would be very effective. Vinegar is a good solution too if you have a soap scum build-up on dishwasher. Make sure to cover your appliances like oven and dishwasher with a clean cover when not in use. However, it’s good if you can consult the domestic cleaners occasionally for a professional service. Check www.homeneedsonline.co.uk. Guidelines concerning use Work in the kitchen involves contact with high temperatures, water vapour and moisture. Moreover, quite a few food products leave persistent marks. Furniture materials used now may be resistant to most of those factors, but there are some limits as to what they can endure. In order to enjoy your kitchen for a long time, certain important guidelines need to be observed. When you are cooking make sure there is enough ventilation so that water vapour does not condense on elements of the furniture. Varnished wood Varnished wooden surfaces should be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent, using a medium-wet cloth. Next, dry the surface thoroughly along the grain. You can try to remove particularly persistent stains with a non-diluted detergent or window-cleaning liquid. However, you should first check on an out-of-sight place whether particular detergent does not have a damaging effect on the surface.

Plastic surfaces (fronts, bodies, worktops) Plastic surfaces should be cleaned with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Next, you should wipe them with pure water and dry them thoroughly. You can try to remove especially persistent stains with a non-diluted detergent or window-cleaning fluid.

Ceramic boards Any dirt or stains which have not been scorched, can be removed with a wet cloth, without a detergent. Marks left by metal pans, limescale or water stains can be removed with a detergent for stainless steel or with a special detergent for ceramic boards. Badly scorched stains should be removed with a razor blade while they are still warm. In case of burnt sugar or sugar-containing substances, stains have to removed immediately.
