Most parents know that it is essential for their child to socialize and play with other kids. They must go outside and feel the warm sunshine on their faces as they run around the open grounds. However, there are instances when we experience bad weather which forces us to ground our children inside our shelters. But this should not hinder their joy for they can still play and have fun indoors. One of the most common games played by juveniles is indoor dodgeball. |
You might think that this game can only be played outside, but there are variations of this game wherein it can be played inside the confines of a large room. The game is usually played by two opposing teams, but you can still divide these teams into smaller ones to maximize space. When doing this, it is recommended to put a curtain divider to prevent them from interrupting the other teams and it also prevents the balls from bouncing off. It is also a must to put wall pads because kids tend to get too much excited which makes them prone to collision with the parapets. In addition to this, you can also put rubberized carpets because the floors will tend to get slippery from the sweat that this kids produce.
With all of these things prepared, you can now start planning the best variation of dodgeball for your children.
One of the most widely played type of dodgeball is called the “Traitor ball”. This game is famous in leagues such as dodgeball Australia. The game starts by letting the teams randomly select their players. After which, one player from each team shall be assigned as the “traitor”. He will then play for the opposite team pretending that he is one of them. This variation is very exciting for kids because it allows them to attack and catch balls from their own teammates if they suspect him of being the traitor. The game gets more interesting because some players tend to bluff that they are the traitor or sometimes even accuse the other players of being one. The main goal of the traitor is to wait for the right opportunity to turn against their team where they “play” for.
Sometimes, there are instances wherein one of the team declares there traitor in any moment during the game. This creates a more dramatic and exciting atmosphere for the kids which will make them more active.
