I could still remember, when I was still on my teenage years, adults would say to me “You kids are different in a worst way compared to us before”. Every time these words enter my ears it makes me smile because I know I somehow angered them and made my point. Of course this type of thinking is understandable especially if you are still young and rebellious. At that time, by some means it made me feel good and powerful because I know that I got their attention, regardless of what my actions was. I was also maintaining my “bad boy” image at that time because girls tend to be attracted to guys who are far from nice. But as we grow old, we all have to change our ways because such attitudes and habits no longer fits our personality. Keeping such way of life may magnify us as childish and incompetent for maturity. Being so, we fail to land jobs that we seek and hope to bring our dreams to come true. Luckily, I have outgrown my juvenile acts before and grown into a better person. But with this, I saw the irony life. I see kids today doing the same things that I used to do regularly before. Like organizing house parties at a friend’s house with all the alcohol and drugs. I find myself smiling at the same time worried because I know that these kids will eventually ruin their lives if not directed away from these vices. I can personally attest to this because I lost some of my friends because no one ever cared about the path they were taking at that time. I, on the other hand was lucky because someone reached out and helped me took over my life again. I tried to help my pals, but it was already too late for them. There was even a point at that time that I blamed myself for the spilled blood of my associates. Luckily, someone from Indoor Sports Victoria reached out and told me that I must not blame anyone for their unnecessary loss. Instead, he taught me how to play dodgeball for kids which eventually turned into my source of income. Today, I’m already a teacher in a local gym here in Melbourne specializing in dodgeball. I hope that my life will serve as a model to all those who took the wrong path. I want to show them that it is not yet over for them. http://www.mdl.org.au/
