Fuerteventura is home to some amazing beaches, in fact, it’s got some of the best in the world. But there is so much more to this fantastic island than just its pristine white sands and lovely warm oceans. For families who like to see the world and go on some exciting adventures while they do it, there are few better places to visit. It’s got plenty of fun for the kids (no matter what their interests may be) and more than enough for the adults to enjoy along with them. Once you’ve landed, taken your airport transfers, Fuerteventura is ready-made for family fun in the sun. These are just some of the top picks. |
Adrenaline Pumping Action
Lots of children (and their parents) love a trip to a theme park, and visitors to this Canary Island have two excellent parks to choose from. The first is the Acua Water Park, which is ideal for those who like things fast and furious. There are a number of fantastic slides as well as jacuzzis and an exciting wave pool. For the younger ones there is a designated pool and face painting too.
Across the other side of the island is a park with a difference. The Oasis Park specialises in animal conservation and while you won’t find rides here there is plenty to keep the family entertained. There are animal shows (starring birds of prey and camels) and over 3000 animals to see.
Ride the Waves
A fantastic thing to do on this ocean-bordered paradise is to give a water sport a go. You can surf, jet-ski, kite-surf or snorkel. It’s the perfect way to keep active and have fun all at the same time. For the parents there is surf-board yoga too, which is a great relaxing option that you can do while the children play in the sand.
A wonderful way to see some of the best scenery on the island is on foot and the good news is that there are many excellent hiking trails to choose from. Tindaya to Playa Esquinzo is one of the best trails; it ends on the beach, which is a relaxing spot for some lunch and a rest. There are dozens to choose from and it’s a great way to see parts of the island you would normally never get to.
How to Get There
The best way for families arriving by air to get to their accommodation is via pre-booked airport transfers. Fuerteventura is a wonderful place to stay, made even better by a hassle-free trip to your hotel. Book before you leave for maximum comfort and reliability with one of the reputable companies that offer a quality door-to-door service when it comes to their airport transfers. Fuerteventura awaits!
With so much to see and do there will barely be enough time to squeeze in a visit to one of the island’s world class beaches (though most families do still find the time)! Whether you’re interested in high-adrenaline action, watersports or being out amongst nature, you’ll find what you’re looking for and a whole lot more on this paradise isle!
