In Xuan Kong Feng Shui we can identify different phases a house or building goes through and one circumstance is called the “Locked Phase.” Clients of mine are made aware of whether or not their property is in a long term or short term locked phase. And in every Update report the clients find out if their home or business will be in a “locked” phase for that year and what to do about it. Strictly speaking, the Money Lock is a period of time when the structure can undermine the occupants in their career and financial opportunities. For some it feels like stagnant energy when normally their income is flowing and increasing. For others it can be more dramatic and I have discovered a link between the Money Lock and people losing their home or business when the Money Lock took hold. In contrast, the People Lock generally does not affect finances, rather the health and relationships of occupants. The People Lock is known to cause fertility problems, trigger latent health issues and to keep the love life non-existent or undermined. More than one Update Client this year asked me if there can be an overlapping of impact with Locked Phases and the answer is yes, when we just think about it logically. For example, we have the cliché “If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.” No matter how much money a person makes, if they are in poor health, they cannot enjoy it—nor can they sustain it. So, yes, indirectly if your home is in a People Lock, which primarily affects health, the trickle down affect is that is can affect finances too. If you are too sick or depressed to handle your work load, the result is predictable. Another example is a business that is in a People Lock. In theory it would not affect income, but if the people who work in or own the company are sick, gossiping, in-fighting, or not getting a long in any way, the “bottom line” will be affected eventually. In theory, if a structure is in a Money Lock, the income can go down…and who doesn’t get stressed when the income goes down? Stress is one of the biggest contributors to health problems, regardless of where the stress comes from. So Money Problems=Health Problems. Then there is the question of whether a People Lock and a Money Lock can occur simultaneously. This is a little more complicated to explain in a newsletter, but the answer is that some locked phases can occur simultaneously and some not. For example, if a house is in the dreaded “20 year Money Lock” it is impossible for it to be concurrently in a 20 Year People Lock.” However, a house could be in 20 Year Lock and in certain years be simultaneously in an overlapping one Year Lock. The one Year Locked Phases repeat every nine years. The 20 year Locked Phases occur twice every 180 years…. These are the simple reasons why the People Lock and Money Lock appear distinct, but can influence each other. Identifying non-obvious influences which the house or building imposes on occupants is the domain of classical feng shui.
