251. Kinect: The All Seeing Eye On Top Of The Television
November 17, 2013

(Thomas Dishaw) According to recent Nielsen statistics 56% of the households in the US own a video game console. Unbeknownst to many Americans this can be an open invitation to let big brother into your house. Disguised as a video game add-on, Microsoft's Kinect is the all seeing eye that sits on top of your TV watching your every move, listening to every conversation and even monitoring vital health information. Now imagine if the Government went door to door and wanted to put a black box on top of your TV (and I'm not talking about your cable box) that did the same things, hopefully you wo... (read more)

252. FEMA Region 3 Author Senator Songstad Goes Public
November 17, 2013

(Thomas Dishaw) Retired South Dakota Senator Sheldon Songstad, who represented Sioux Falls from 1975-1988, has emerged from the shadows to discuss his memo about FEMA Region 3. According to Songstad the FEMA Region 3 memo was only intended for a select group of friends, but managed to make its way to numerous alternative and mainstream media outlets. Songstad, calling in from a secure line to the Rick Wiles Show claims he is out of the country traveling incognito, making his whereabouts unknown. When asked where FEMA Region 3 was by host Rick Wiles, Songstad said I think its the four stat... (read more)

253. Insider: Supermarkets Have Less Than One Day Supply Of Food On Hand
November 17, 2013

(Thomas Dishaw) Most of you have read about or witnessed the chaotic scenes in supermarkets that ensued over the weekend due to the national EBT card outage. In Louisiana barbaric savages filled carts to the brim after learning their accounts had no limits and could steal hundreds of dollars of food with no consequences. Hopefully this was a wake up call to everyday citizens that preparedness is a strategy we need to be instituting in our ever so busy and chaotic lives. I wish I had good news to share with our readers, but the situation at hand is way worse than one could ever imagine, this a... (read more)

254. TSA Megalomaniacs Are Here To Dominate, Intimidate and Control You
November 17, 2013

(Thomas Dishaw) Over the years the TSA has incrementally managed to intrude many areas of our lives. Inherited powers that were granted to us by The Constitution and Bill of Rights have now strategically been thrown out the window to protect you and your family from a fake war on terror. Unbeknownst to most the situation is much deeper than that. The TSA is here to intimidate you psychologically and physically, just examine their secret motto Dominate. Intimidate. Control, which is hidden at the TSA™s air martial training center, strategically kept off of badges and insignia, and away f... (read more)

255. Letter to Sen. Inhofe
November 15, 2013

Dear Senator Inhofe: 03/17/12 I read books, but usually books I find at the library, so they may not be the most current. I was not aware until recently that you had written, "The Greatest Hoax." If global warming is a hoax, I still rather suspect that a greater hoax is the Theory of Evolution. Man didn't come from monkeys, God created us. Garrison Keillor has a weekly radio program, "A Prairie Home Companion." Several months ago, he reported that a Northwest passage has been found, which is what Christopher Columbus was looking for when he bumped into Nor... (read more)

256. Letter to Prime Minister
November 15, 2013

04/22/2011 Dear Japanese Prime Minister: We have seen on the news about the devastation in Japan from the earthquake and tsunami, with the resulting damage to the nuclear power generation facilities. I hope that your nation is well down the road to recovery. I would like to suggest that it may not be the best investment to put money into more nuclear power generation facilities, since they may not last long enough to justify the expenditure. Conventional coal burning power generation might be a better short-term strategy. I was in Japan several times in the 1960's, as... (read more)

257. Greek Default
November 15, 2013

Greece’s Recent Debt Default 03/11/12 by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012. In a recent news item, Greece has defaulted on its debt. One problem is government workers that collect a paycheck but are not working a full week. Another problem Greece has, apparently, is failure to enforce tax laws. I read of a traveler to Greece who purchased something there. After the purchase, they asked for a receipt. They were told, “Oh, if you want a receipt, we’ll have to charge you the higher price that includes sales tax. Apparently, this is widespread in Greece, that the government is being cheated ... 258. Damned if You Don't
November 15, 2013

By Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013. We have an expression, “Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.” It came up recently on TV regarding the decision the President was making whether to strike the regime of Bashar Al Assad in Syria or not. There is an unpleasant set of possible results if we do, and also if we don’t. But with God, you’re only damned if you don’t get born again. In John chapter 3, Jesus said, “You must be born again.” You get born again when you believe the gospel message that Jesus never sinned, died on the cross for our sins, and that God rais... 259. Whistleblower Reward Programs Could Help Regain Funds From Tax Dodgers
November 15, 2013

According to statistics from the California Franchise Tax Board, the state is owed approximately 6.5 billion dollars in unpaid taxes. Some contend that a partial solution to the problem would be to implement a whistleblower rewards program to encourage people to report tax fraud. California whistleblower and securities attorneys think that implementing the program could help to recoup lost tax revenue. IRS whistleblower California attorneys agree. The California state legislature passed bills that allow both the Franchise Tax Board and Board of Equalization to give awards to whistlebl... (read more)

Tooth eruption in children is often accompanied by various changes in behavior and general condition, which greatly disturbs the parents. There are the symptoms that should alert the adults when observed in a child. The parents or caretakers must be sure to consult a pediatrician if there are such signs of tooth eruption in children: • high temperature; • vomiting; • diarrhea; • running nose; • cough; • skin rash; • seizures; • constant drowsiness; • prolonged irritability, moodiness. 261. "I don't have insurance. Can I file a personal injury claim?"
November 15, 2013

Orlando Motorcycle Attorney, Orlando Motorcycle AttorneysEven if you don’t have insurance, you can file a personal injury claim if the other party is at fault. In fact, your insurance company may not even come into play, since the at-fault driver’s insurance often will be the one to pay for your damages. Some of these damages include property, medical, and lost wages. Filing the claim will proceed as if you had insurance and will include gathering up evidence to prove both your injury and other party’s negligence. Take photographs of your injuries and get a copy of the police report, in... (read more)

262. Finding a UID provider that can help from start to finish
November 15, 2013

With so many different methods available for applying a Unique Identifier symbol to equipment produced for the military, a defense contractor might easily start to feel overwhelmed. Therefore it can be a good idea to find a vendor that offers a variety of UID solutions — and can provide advice on which methods work best for a particular application. One such supplier is ID Integration Inc. (id-integration.com). This company offers direct marking methods for applying the 2-D Data Matrix UID symbol to equipment. For example, they can supply a programmable, dot peen stamper that supports tex... (read more)

263. Mys.tified by IUID requirements? Turn to the experts for help
November 15, 2013

Many defense contractors are experts in a particular field of engineering, such as aerospace, vehicle, electrical or industrial engineering. What they might not be experts on are defense department requirements for Unique Identification (UID) labeling of items being supplied to the military. Item Unique Identification (IUID) is a system in which each piece of equipment receives a unique identifier that remains with the item throughout its life, greatly enhancing the military’s ability to track the equipment. Identifying information is contained in a 2D Data Matrix symbol that is appl... (read more)

264. UID labeling involves many steps: From design to IUID verification
November 15, 2013

Department of Defense contractors have many details to think about when determining how to comply with the department’s Item Unique Identification (IUID) requirements. The IUID program involves the marking of individual pieces of equipment with a Unique Identification (UID) that stays with the item throughout its life. The marking is accomplished using a 2D Data Matrix symbol that is read with an automated scanner. Decisions to be made include how the UID labels will be applied to the item; where the labels will be located; and the size of the mark. Finally, IUID verification is needed to... (read more)

265. Check compliance of your unique identification labels through IUID verification
November 15, 2013

Much effort goes into designing unique identification (UID) labels for equipment to be used by the military. How to label the items, where to place the 2D Data Matrix symbol that contains the Item Unique Identifier (IUID), what size the symbol should be and what information it should contain are all issues that must be evaluated. But at the end of the process, what really matters is whether the symbol can be read by machines designed to do so. An IUID verification system, such as those available throughID IntegrationInc.,will assess the readability of the Data Matrix symbols in addition to dat... (read more)

266. High-quality labels ensure UID compliance
November 15, 2013

Labels that last a lifetime. That is a key component of the Item Unique Identification system, or IUID, developed by the U.S. Department of Defense. The idea is to mark each piece of DoD equipment with a Unique Identifier (UID) so the department can track the asset throughout its life cycle. The identifier is contained within a 2-D Data Matrix symbol that is applied to the asset. The identifier is entered into the DoD’s IUID registry, a database that also contains information about each item, such as its date of purchase, location, maintenance history and other details. The system allows ... (read more)

267. Reasons for IUID requirements are many
November 15, 2013

Contractors supplying equipment to the military are likely aware of requirements for Item Unique Identification of each piece of equipment they produce. The Department of Defense requires the identification, in the form of a 2-D data matrix symbol, for each piece of equipment valued at $5,000 or more, and in some cases, items of lesser value. The machine-readable code allows tracking of the asset throughout its life. But contractors might be less familiar with the reasons the IUID program was implemented. The IUID requirements were spurred by concern from government auditors that fed... (read more)

268. A good scanner aids in IUID implementation
November 15, 2013

The defense department system of using Item Unique Identification (IUID) tags to label individual pieces of equipment has become a valuable method of tracking assets throughout their lifetime, no matter where they are located across the globe. These tags, which are in the form of 2D data matrix symbols, contain basic identifying information about the item. As spelled out in the U.S. Defense Department’s MIL-STD-130,information contained in the unique item identifier may include the issuing agency code, enterprise ID, part number and serial number. An IUID scanner is used to read the code and... (read more)

269. IUID standards have common purpose
November 15, 2013

NATO’s ability to bring together the military forces of its 28 member countries to achieve a common goal is extremely powerful. There are, of course, a number of challenges when it comes to joining many disparate organizations to work together. One area where this becomes apparent is in the sharing of defense equipment. It can be difficult for just one defense department to keep track of all its assets, which may have lifetimes of decades and are spread among worldwide operations. Loaning the equipment to other organizations adds an additional layer of complexity. Defense departments ... (read more)

270. Make sure your UID labels pass the test
November 15, 2013

Trust but verify. That well-known phrase typically applies to U.S. foreign affairs. But it could also come to mind among defense contractors who are dealing with requirements for Item Unique Identification (IUID) of products they produce for the military. IUID requires contractors to label each piece of equipment they make for the military with a Unique Identifier, or UID, that facilitates tracking of the item throughout its lifetime. The requirement is met by placing a 2-D Data Matrix symbol on the equipment, which contains the identifying information in a specific format. (ID Integratio... (read more)

271. Determining what defense equipment needs a Unique Identifier
November 14, 2013

The first question a defense contractor might ask when it comes to marking equipment produced for the military with a Unique Identifier (UID) is, what items need to be marked? In general, the equipment must be marked if the DoD’s acquisition cost is $5,000 or more for each item. But there are also some cases in which assets costing less than $5,000 must be marked. The product’s buyer will look at the less costly items on a case-by-case basis to determine if they’re mission-essential, controlled inventory items for which life-cycle traceability is essential. Any requirement for UID markin... (read more)

273. TegoView streamlines ATA Spec 2000 RFID compliance
November 14, 2013

The Air Transport Association’s Spec 2000 standards call for labeling of aircraft parts so they can be tracked throughout their lifetime. RFID is an increasingly popular method of doing this, as the tags can be read with an automated reader without a direct line of site to the tag. The tags are durable and can withstand a range of environments. In addition, RFID tags are available with different amounts of memory. The high-memory tags in particular are able to contain more information than other types of labels. ATA Spec 2000 contains a number of details that must be followed in using these RF... (read more)

274. Boost your business through government contracts
November 14, 2013

Most businesses would be foolish not to take a look at government contracting as a potential source of revenue. The U.S. federal government spends more than $500 billion per year buying goods and services from outside vendors. Because the government doesn’t produce any products on its own, it turns to the private sector to obtain everything from staplers to multi-million-dollar machinery. One of the first steps for someone interested in doing business with the federal government is to register as a contractor through uscontractorregistration.com. You’ll be required to provide a DUNS numbe... (read more)

275. UID standards delve into all the details
November 14, 2013

Imagine dozens of defense departments trying to determine what military equipment is available to share and where it is located. This is a challenge faced by NATO and its 28 member countries. To address this challenge, NATO has turned to the Unique Identification of Items, or UID, system for labeling and tracking mission-critical equipment. Items are labeled with a 2D Data Matrix symbol that contains a Unique Item Identifier (UII). An automated scanner is used to read the Data Matrix and retrieve an item’s identifier. The UII is entered into a registry, which can contain other critical de... (read more)
