Maximum storage with minimum intervention is the priority in this comfortably designed apartment at Nagole, Hyderabad by ThinkDesignerz… The 1200 sq. ft. apartment is chic and understated. Planned according to Vaastu Shastra requirements, the biggest constraint was the profusion of beams throughout the apartment. Addressing the same via false ceilings, the architects have creatively blended the beams into the spaces by utilizing them for fixtures or panelling them to introduce an element of contrast – right through the zoning of spaces flowing from the living area, through the dining space into the open kitchen. With the governing requirement being maximum storage and minimum maintenance, storage is mainly concealed or incorporated into the wall panelling and furniture - the entire composition consisting of straight lines, brought to life via the use of contrasting materials. There is an interesting blend of wood, upholstery and mirrored surfaces as seen in the master bedroom, where the space is almost magically magnified through the mirrored and panelled bed backdrop with a sense of warmth emanating from the wooden flooring. The entire ensemble, although tested in terms of its colour palette, lends a rich aura to the room. On similar lines, the daughter’s room speaks of innocence and excitement through the bright colour palette of white and pink. Through concealed lighting, Italian and Greek marble, the apartment speaks in sophisticated tones. A muted interior envelope comes alive with choice accessories and floor rugs that complete the simple yet elegant home. check out the visuals on indiaartndesign.com
