Things We Do For LOVE!! “You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching, Love like you’ve never be hurt, Sing like there’s nobody listening, And live like it’s heaven on earth.” ? William W. Purke Picture this, a strong, aggressive, logical-headed girl who used to turn-down every other guy after a date or two falls head-over-heels in love with a man she meets for just a couple of hours?! Is that really possible? Yes, it is.. LOVE – this four letter emotion can’t just make the world go round! It causes the most stable of the species such as me to undertake the craziest or the wildest of things…ordinarily not done. I used to work with a leading investment bank; had a fabulous job that rewarded me very well, I was perhaps one of the most aggressive ever that they had on their team, fiery, spirited etc. & then one fine day I meet this guy from the US of A. Casual dinner something in the evening…we chat, connect…& then he flies away, back home. We decide to keep-in-touch via calls, mails…the works! I send him fancy wines for his birthday, we speak on & off for about three months & then there is this sudden twist of fate – my Dad decides for me that this Boy is just not the one for you! Obviously, being a drama queen, this doesn’t go down too well! And then there is the part where the father asks the man to buzz/lay off! So, what do I do in this situation?! I decide to move countries. From Namma Bengalooru to Connecticut – all for the man I’m in love with. It doesn’t seem to make sense since we’ve barely met in person. I apply for an internal job transfer to my organization’s NYC office. Go through more than a dozen rounds… and then that fails to happen.. Travelling to the US was next to impossible for a single girl, considering the Visa issues during that year, when the Recession was at its worst ever! So, what does yours truly do? For the first ever time in her life, she pens a Letter! For the Love of God, I refuse to call it a Love Letter lest it sounds corny and cheesy. But, it was by all means a Love Letter without the phrase “I Love You!”. It was on a ‘Winnie The Pooh’ letterhead, which was my absolute favourite – the one that I used only for people I love What does my HERO do? He threatens to have me arrested if I ever come to his country?! Lol. I was in love with a Man with the maturity of a five year old!! Heaven Knows why?! Who would think that a harmless letter would stir up this strong response?! And to think of it, I hadn’t even dated him! I’ve a fragile heart, but also a brave one. So, I’m in love yet again…Met the ‘love of my life’ in perhaps the most romantic cities of the world…my heart filp-flopped and there I was again after three whole years…my world turned upside down, have a spring in my step…a silly smile on my face every single time, that I hear anything remotely sounding like his name or surname…hee hee Too bad…this time around circumstances don’t seem to have worked out so far…I’m still single…but not lonely….still hopeful…& optimistic…believe in that POT of GOLD or Love in this case…I know I’ll be with Him soon….Real Soon!!....To read more visit http://ourvivaha.com/blog/what-would-you-do-for-the-person-you-love/
