26. "If you can't export your info, you don't own it."
March 22, 2021

I honestly don’t remember where I heard this from, but it was written down on my long list of email ideas. But this short quote has to do with where you build your business. Nowadays, social media marketing is one of the go-to strategies to promote yourself and your business. Influencers have built a following of hundreds of thousands, even millions of people on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.. Online business owners commonly build their audience on platforms like Facebook and YouTube. But is there any way to export your audience’s data and use it for future marke... (read more)

27. Why it's not a good idea to publicly share your business income
March 20, 2021

A while ago, one of my former business coaches started her own podcast. As much as I am a fan of the work she does for her clients, I have to admit, I don’t tune into her podcast too often. It was just recently that I listened to two of her latest episodes. The first episode was about her thought process behind why she quit abruptly drinking alcohol (She was a huge champagne lover). In the second episode I listened to, she talked about why she stopped sharing her income publicly, which was the episode I found more interesting. So let’s talk more about it. Long sto... 28. Vlogs are just like reality TV, except without the ridiculous drama
March 17, 2021

I remember at one point in the YouTube space, vlogging was a huge thing. And ‘till this day, it’s still a common thing for content creators to do. But what’s not as common is finding content creators who release vlogs almost, if not every single day. Yes, all 365 days in a year. And I understand why it’s not common for content creators to release daily vlogs. It just takes a lot to keep up with that. They constantly have to talk to a camera, which isn’t enjoyable for some of them because they feel like they’re unable to live in the moment. They also have to do a l... (read more)

29. Neagle's definition of true security in my crooked version
March 16, 2021

Let’s go back to the days when I used to religiously listen to the content put out by the great business and mindset coach, David Neagle. I remember listening to one of his audios. I forget if it was a podcast episode or one of his recorded seminars. But that’s not the point. In one of his recordings, he was talking about the concept of what it truly means to have security. And I don’t remember exactly what he said either, so what I’m about to tell you is completely off by memory and is going to be extremely paraphrased. He said, True security has nothing to ... 30. Why you might as well get used to content creation
March 11, 2021

I once heard this sentence that couldn’t be more true. “If you’re in a business, there’s no way around creating content.” Think about it, whether you’re in a brick and mortar business or an online business, you’re going to need to create content to put yourself out there. What do all businesses essentially need nowadays? A website, and a website has content in it. It has a homepage, an about page, and if it sells products, product descriptions, landing pages, and so on. And if they don’t have a website for whatever reason, which is never good, then they most likely hav... (read more)

32. The place to go where you can learn how to prepare for a zombie apocalypse
March 10, 2021

On Monday, I talked about how I listened to a man who lost a lot of weight by walking everyday. Well, listening to that actually made me want to do the same thing. I already work out at home and adding some daily cardio exercise will only be better for me. It has been over a week now and I haven’t missed a day so far. But one day while I was on my daily walk, I overheard a conversation and discovered something pretty interesting. Apparently, the CDC has a section on their website that helps people prepare for a potential zombie apocalypse. As soon as I finished my walk and ... (read more)

33. The Case of Booty Calling Your Subscribers
March 01, 2021

In April of 2019, I purchased an affiliate marketing course from a rather nice New Zealander. Very useful course back when I worked on my old blog, EZPC Building. But that’s not what I want to talk about here. I was going through my inbox and I looked at all the emails he sent me from April 2019 and on. This man has been emailing me so inconsistently that I almost forgot I was on his list. Let’s just say, the number of times he emailed me is less than the number of toes I have. And when I looked through the content, everything started to make sense. You see, there... (read more)

34. How Apple Traps You In Their Almost Inescapable Ecosystem
February 26, 2021

No matter what people say about Apple, it’s a very smart company. My friends and I were talking about it the other day. We were talking about how Apple intentionally made all its products compatible with one another. For examples, With the AirDrop feature, you can directly transfer files from one device to another without using emails or external storage drives. With iCloud, you can easily access your files from any Apple device. And, in my opinion, their coolest feature is the Universal Clipboard. Meaning, you can copy text or images on one device and paste it on... (read more)

35. The case of real estate buyer's remorse
February 24, 2021

Recently, I saw a lot of articles coming out about people splurging online during the pandemic. Some of the things I read were: A woman, who barely drinks, spent $320 on liquor. Another woman bought a vinyl, but doesn’t even own a record player. A mother bought a tortilla press that has been sitting in the unopened box for over a year. That’s not all. I also read that the pandemic also caused people to rush into buying new houses. And what happened a lot of the time is that they ended up regretting their decisions. There was either something about their houses tha... (read more)

36. The Grave Misadventure of a Robinhood Investor
February 09, 2021

Robinhood is an app that allows you to invest your money straight from your phone. I believe it’s also one of the first investment apps to be released, but that doesn’t matter. And since investing money is so easily available now, a lot of younger people naturally are doing it. For example, Take this 20 year old college student who was one of the tens of millions of Robinhood investors. And I said he “was” because he committed suicide after seeing that he had a negative balance of over $730,000. It was later found out that it was most likely just a user interface issue... February 09, 2021

It's hard to compare the benefits one can benefit from studying overseas with whatever else. The expertise may change your view from being local to international and your perspectives to global. Not just this but you will probably gain friendships and memories to last a lifetime. Interestingly, however, one of the biggest challenges inducing pupils to determine not to study overseas, is they think it would be overly costly and or overly hard. The overseas students that do choose to study overseas and use the assistance of an education broker are often quite surprised by how simple it was t... (read more)

38. How This Actress Took Her Career Manners Into Her Own Hands
February 08, 2021

Throughout the years, I’ve heard a lot of stories about actors and actresses and their career journeys. There was one story I remember hearing, and it was memorable mainly because it sounded very sketchy. There was a woman who wanted to pursue acting at the age of 15. What she did was, went on Craigslist and responded to a listing that was looking for a young actress. Right from the start, it sounded shady. Once she arrived at the location, the person she was supposed to meet introduced herself and she had the woman read a few lines. After listening to her, she wa... (read more)

39. A customer took a retail store's guarantee policy in the most literal way possible
January 29, 2021

To end this great week off, let me share a funny story that happened a while back. When I exercise, I like to take supplements, BCAAs and whey protein. And I buy both of those at a GNC store near my house. One day, I went to the store to buy another container of BCAA powder. While the cashier was ringing the item up, we were having a nice conversation. He was telling me how GNC has a guarantee. If you buy anything from the store, use it, and you aren’t satisfied with it, then you can return it and get a refund. Then he told me a story of a former customer who took that... (read more)

40. If At First You Don't Succeed
January 27, 2021

With the exception of young prodigies, chances are, when you try a new skill for the first time, the end results will be pretty ugly. If that upsets you and you expected perfection on your first attempt, then you, my friend, might be dealing with one of the criminals from the Imposter Syndrome Organization, the Gruesome Genius. If you read that article, then you know what I’m talking about. But if that doesn’t upset you, then you understand that it’s a perfectly natural process. 41. Blast to the Past of My Untold Network Marketing History
January 26, 2021

In the past, I talked a little bit about network marketing. But thinking about it now, I don’t think I ever mentioned that I was part of a network marketing company at one point in my life. World Financial Group. However, I signed up under someone who ran a company under a different name. It’ll take a bit of time to explain that, so I’m not going to. But here’s what I do want to talk about. During my training, my supervisor encouraged me to attend as many networking events as I possibly can. January 20, 2021

If you’re like me, a person who lives under a rock but still knows what’s going on in the world (Somewhat), then you’ve probably heard of this new platform called Clubhouse. If you haven’t, it’s a new social platform that’s strictly audio only. I first read about it on an email newsletter from a creatives network group that I’m a part of. 4 “No Brainer” Ways to Change your Life… 2 years ago, when I was on vacation in Agadir, Morocco, I was sitting in a local coffee shop by the beachfront Marina with my family, I started to think about what was the BIG change that made me successful in my own online business? January 19, 2021

You’re Better Than a Crab What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you read the picture above? This could be intentionally, or a lack of knowledge and understanding in what you’re trying to do. Sometimes this can be just down to plain jealousy. 46. How to Play the Client Acquisition Game on Easy Mode
January 18, 2021

Over the weekend, I caught up with a friend whom I haven’t seen in over 10 months. The reasons are quite obvious. But the less obvious reason is that he’s been traveling out-of-state. We caught up over lunch. We ate at a place called Dan & John’s Wings. If you’re in New York City, I highly recommend eating there at least once. Their chicken wings are addictively delicious. Anyways, that’s besides the point. One of the things I found out from my friend is that he started his own matchmaking agency. And no, it’s not what you most likely think it is. It’s not one of ... 47. Bending the Unwritten Rules of Email Marketing
January 15, 2021

For the past few days, I’ve been working on completing my 2021 strategy, specifically the part where I revamp my welcome sequence. As of right now, it’s just one simple welcome email that has the link to the sample chapters of my book. But now I’m thinking of making some of the following changes: 1. Convert and condense all the chapters in the PDF file into a sequence of emails. Instead of letting my new email subscribers wait for the welcome email, download the PDF, open it, and finally read its content, why not just give the content straight to them by putting them in the... 48. Tip on How to Have Engaging Conversations With Almost Anyone
January 14, 2021

One thing I noticed from watching TV shows is this: Most of the time, each season, or even each episode, has two plots. Take the show I talked about last week, Phineas and Ferb. Each episode has two plots. One where Phineas and Ferb build something extraordinary and their sister tries to bust them. The other one where it follows another spy adventure of Perry the Platypus trying to take down Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Another example, A crime show I’ve been watching, Grimm, has a similar structure. One plot, which is the crime case itself, which is different in each episode, t... (read more)

49. This Burger King Manager Went Above and Beyond to Give His Customers the Best Experience
January 13, 2021

One last trip to the customer service memory bank. Let’s talk about an example of what good customer service looks like. To do that, we need to go all the way back to 2015, the year I got my first job in Burger King. For one year, I worked with three managers. The general manager and two assistant managers. But since I mainly worked during the later days, I didn’t work with the general manager as much so technically, I mainly worked with just two. Let me tell you, these two had management styles that were as different as they could get. One of them, we’ll call him Jay... (read more)

50. The Tale of Paypal's Brilliant Online Customer Service Quality
January 12, 2021

Here’s a pleasant customer service story I pulled out of my memory bank. I have two Paypal accounts. One that I currently use. And there’s another one that I created probably years back, but I completely forgot about. Apparently, the older account was created under my email address, but also under my brother’s personal information. So he asked me to delete the account. The only problem was, there was one dollar in the account for some reason and we were unable to delete the account until the money was transferred out. And for some reason, I couldn’t connect our bank account... (read more)
