1. LEAD FOR THE DAY: QUANTITY OR QUALITY
June 01, 2020

The age-old debate: quantity versus quality. It’s a topic of conversation in many parts of your life. Would you rather go to a buffet and have access to an abundance of mediocre cuisine or prefer to go to a nice restaurant and have one amazing meal that you can really savor? It’s especially relevant in business. Do you want a large team of average workers or would you rather have a smaller team that are the best in their trade? Steve Jobs once said: “A small team of A+ players can run circles around a giant team of B and C players”. As corporate event planners, we noticed the quantity versus ... (read more)

2. Market your content with Simple SEO Services!
June 01, 2020

SEO, the Search Engine Optimization tool, and Content Marketing have turned into the two wheels of a cart with regards to the universe of web business and advancement. Even though it is an adage illustration; it doesn't change the way that they are a vital piece of the business module today. Gone are the days when the algorithm worked with just the perfect keywords and backlinks. Simply putting it in “the optimized words” the algorithm has now turned to be more in sync with the human sources. This is an era when the quality of content is highly regarded when it comes to marketing your com... (read more)

3. The Importance of Empathy-Based Marketing
May 28, 2020

3 Ways to Use Empathetic Content Marketing When I say the word “empathy,” what do you associate it with? Kindness to a family member going through a hard time? Supporting your partner when they’ve had a bad day? Or, does a business-related example come to mind? I’m going to guess that many people don't associate “empathy” with buying or selling. ??Unfortunately, many brands don’t either! But as we move forward from COVID-19, empathy-based marketing isn’t just the right thing to do, your customers now expect it. Many studies done during the pandemic are showing tha... (read more)

4. Check Out This T-shirt
May 27, 2020

A while ago, I designed myself a t-shirt for fun. It was a white t-shirt with a picture of a suit and blue tie, and on the bottom it said, "Business casual." I thought it was a clever design and wore it to a couple of professional networking events instead of a traditional business attire. When I told some of my friends this, they looked at me like I was stupid. I've gotten some responses from them like: "That's so unprofessional." "People won't take you seriously." "Hahahahahaha." Yeah I got laughed at. But it doesn't matter because I still met some amazing peopl... (read more)

5. Secrets From the Simple Painter
May 22, 2020

I love Bob Ross. He was my childhood hero. If you don't know him, he was an amazing painter. And he was the host of The Joy of Painting, which was a relaxing instructional painting show. If you never watched an episode and you’re curious about it, they pretty much have all the episodes on YouTube. Just search ‘Bob Ross’ and they’ll show up. From time to time, I watch some of his episodes and they still amaze me till this day. The biggest thing that amazes me is the fact that he has a very simple art style. In just 30 minutes, he can paint a beautiful landscape that looks li... (read more)

7. Break For Wellness
May 20, 2020

With the economy at an all-time high over the past few years, much of our mindset was work, work, work and keeping up with the rapid pace of life. Oh, how much our world has changed in the last couple of months! We have lost our sense of security of a life we knew and many of us are feeling direction-less looking for a way to feel positive and directed again. As we try to navigate through the new terms of the world and attempt to push forward in the meetings and events industry, how can we move onward, find a sense of productivity, and stay aware with a calm mindset? Last year, our clien... (read more)

8. One of the Most Entertaining Skin Care Promotion Videos to Exist
May 18, 2020

One of my favorite YouTube content creators of all time is David So. He’s a Korean American singer, stand up comedian, and entrepreneur. I've been following this guy since 2011. Wow....that's crazy. I've been following him for almost 10 years. It's amazing how fast the time goes by. Anyways, I was rewatching a video he made six months ago. He was promoting a South Korean skin care brand called Dr. Jart+. If you’d like to check his video out, here’s the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIikkMRIXhc Just a warning, his personality is not the most sophisticated a... (read more)

9. Experience Luxury Dining Inside the Queen of the Skies
May 17, 2020

Let me tell you something about Pan Am. Pan Am, also known as Pan American Airways, was an airline founded back in 1927. They were arguably one of the most innovative airlines that shaped the airline industry as we know it today. I won't go into its entire history, let's focus on the peak of its era in the late 1960s. One of the things they were known for was providing luxury air travel. Passengers were flying in luxurious cabins, serviced by elegantly dressed flight attendants, and eating fancy meals. Unfortunately, a series of unfortunate events caused Pan Am to decl... (read more)

10. A Valuable Lesson to Learn From Photography
May 16, 2020

Last year, I took a film photography class. And honestly, it was one of the most fun classes I ever took by far. I loved learning the whole old school photography process. Everything from how to use a film camera, to developing film rolls and printing pictures. Throughout the semester, we would have to take pictures based on a certain theme. After going out and taking pictures, we'd develop the film and print out our top three pictures. At the end of each assignment, we would do a class critique. We'd take our top three pictures, pin them on the board, present them, and get feed... (read more)

11. The Evolution of My Personal Choice of Music
May 16, 2020

I find it interesting that as time goes on, the type of music we listen to changes, at least it happens to me. My first exposure to music was listening to my cousin’s playlist. He mainly had a lot of rock songs from bands like Linkin Park and Green Day. As I got older, I started to follow the mainstream pop music. I listened to artists like Sia, Justin Timberlake, and Maroon 5. Then I traveled back in time to explore the 90s hip hop music from people like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Tupac, and The Notorious B.I.G. thanks to the influence of my former Burger King crew, but also less vulgar son... 12. Seeing the Power of the Checkbox Guardian In Action
May 16, 2020

When I first started building my email list, I wanted to use Facebook ads to grow it. The results weren't as fast as I liked it to be since I didn't do a lot of testing, but it was still getting me results. But then one day, I got a comment from a person who came across my ad and wrote, "Have to agree to receive promotional emails, no thank you." Well... I don't know why she had to be a jerk and make a public comment about it instead of just leaving my page and moving on. But I guess that's how some people are like on social media. And if you don't know what she was re... (read more)

May 16, 2020

Sprucing up your packaging can be a deal-breaker. You don’t need too much flashiness though - just the right amount will do the trick. If someone walked up to you in the street and asked “what is your favorite packaging?”, what would you say? Would it be something regular? A tea box shaped like a rectangular? A shoebox? Probably not. I bet that you would recall something extraordinary, a packaging design that was an experience for you. However, it is not easy to design a box that will be so memorable. There are ways to embellish your packaging, and this is the right place t... (read more)

Find Inspiration when making your own logo design It’s well known that a unique and creative logo can present a lot of value to a business, helping the business establish a brand identity and distinguish itself from the competition. With that said, though, coming up with an idea for a unique and creative logo is quite often easier said than done. 16. The Deceiving Plague That's Been Haunting Internet Users For Many Years
May 15, 2020

Over the years, I slowly stopped playing mobile app games. Most of them never really got me to play them for a long period of time except for a select few. Today I'm down to one game, which means less time spent on my phone. Awesome. But if you've played any mobile games before, you'll notice a lot of them have one thing in common. Advertisements. Advertisements that promote other mobile games, but it's not just that. Most ads you see are pretty misleading. They'll usually show you a video showcasing the game, and you can tell on certain ads that whoever made them... (read more)

17. The Only Reason Why I Like the US President
May 15, 2020

Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a parallel universe. The things I read on the news nowadays make me think, "Is this a joke?" And those things come from none other than the man who lives in the White House. The man leading the United States in the most unconventional and questionable way. President Donald Trump. Now I know I’m pretty late to this, but he shared an idea to the world about how we can combat the coronavirus. And he said the following during a briefing... “Suppose that we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, s... (read more)

18. Watch Your Language
May 14, 2020

For some reason, this memory has stuck with me till this day and I thought I’d share it with you because it can make a good lesson. This time we’re going way back to the days I was in elementary school. The school day was winding down and I was helping my teacher clean up the classroom. All of a sudden, my teacher got my attention and asked me, ”Ellisen, do you want to sweep?” When I heard that, I was thinking in my head, “What does sweep mean? Is that a candy? It sounds like a bad thing.” So I shook my head and walked away. Soon after, my teacher asked one of my class... (read more)

19. I Got "Featured" On the Wall Street Journal
May 14, 2020

Well, it's true, but not true at the same time. Here’s the story. Two weeks ago, I was on an early morning Monday Zoom call with one of my good associates, Jeff Zalewski of Performiforce. A couple of his associates and a columnist from the Wall Street Journal were on the call too. Before I left the call, she scheduled a time to interview me. I'd say it went well, but it was pretty nerve-wracking. I constantly had to remind myself to breathe whenever I talked. A few days later, she emailed me a link to her article. I clicked on the link and there it was, my name on the Wall ... (read more)

20. Wisdom From a Three-trick Pony
May 14, 2020

Before the dark age of the coronavirus, I've gotten into a couple of different hobbies. Specifically, 1. Photography: It all started when I took a film photography class in college. I fell in love with it despite the long, manual film development process and painful trial and errors of printing the photos. 2. Music production: This was more of a spontaneous idea. At first, I wanted to give up photography and pursue this instead because I felt music would have more of an emotional impact on people than photography. In the end, I thought it didn't make sense to give up one over th... (read more)

21. Brand Marketing During Coronavirus: What You Need to Know
May 14, 2020

How to Position Your Brand Messaging During COVID-19 When I say the word “brand,” what comes to mind? A corporate giant like Amazon, or the colours of a company’s logo? Actually, brands are much more than just a visual representation, tagline, jingle or website; and it’s not just something that only the “big guys” should pay attention to. Your branding represents the total experience of working with you. 22. Why This Bee Whisperer Would Make a Great Marketer
May 13, 2020

I came across a video that was trending on Youtube called... "The process of making friends with a carpenter bee." I can safely say it was the most wholesome video I've seen in a long time. If you have 10 minutes to spare and want to watch a video that'll make you smile, the link is down below. If not, I'll talk about it throughout this email. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGrWvcRy8_8 The person in this video decided to raise two carpenter bees. Of course, the bees know nothing about this person, or if he'll hurt them in any way. But that wasn't the case. The person fed t... (read more)

23. This Speaker Pulled the Ultimate Scarcity Tactic
May 13, 2020

During the pre-coronavirus age, I went to a seminar and one of the speakers was a financial educator. He was all right. A lot of stuff he talked about were concepts I already learned back in my high school financial literacy class, but repeat lessons never hurt. There were also some things he talked about that I never knew like how to lower the amount of taxes you pay as a business owner. But the thing that perked up my ears was the tactic he used to sell his programs. Let me explain. One of the topics he was taught us [the audience] was the importance of building cre... (read more)

24. The Two Greatest Salesman to Ever Exist in the Fictional World, Spongebob and Patrick
May 12, 2020

I couldn't help myself. I went on YouTube again and went on a nostalgic journey. This time I watched Spongebob Squarepants, one of my most favorite cartoon shows growing up. And the episode I watched was... "Chocolate With Nuts." One of best episodes, in my opinion. And I'm not just saying that because it's one of my favorites. It also has some great business lessons hidden throughout the episode. After watching this, I took notes of the most interesting moments in this episode. 1. When Spongebob asks Squidward what entrepreneurs sell, he replies, "...Things people wan... (read more)

25. The Thing About Engagement Rings
May 12, 2020

Back in my teenage years, I never understood why guys buy bank-breaking, expensive engagement rings and wedding rings for their ladies. I always thought it was a financially irresponsible thing to do. As I'm writing this, I just read that the average amount spent on an engagement ring is around five grand! My goodness, and let's not even go into the average cost of the wedding itself.... $65,824! Man...I can buy a car with that money, or use it as a down payment for a house. Even when my ex-girlfriend talked to me about engagements rings and all that good stuff, I always looked ... (read more)
