376. Root Canal Disinfection in Primary Molar During Pulpectomy Procedure using S1 PIOON LASER
October 08, 2020
Introduction- The outcome of root canal treatment is based on efficient disinfection of the root canal system and prevention of reinfection. Pulpectomy is defined as a root canal procedure for pulp tissue that is irreversibly infected or necrotic due to caries or trauma in primary teeth. The root canals are debrided and shaped with hand or rotary files. However the instrumentation and irrigation with an inert solution alone cannot adequately reduce the microbial population in a root canal system, disinfection with irrigants such as sodium hypochlorite and/or chlorhexidine is an important step ... 377. A World Where Social Media Becomes a Part of Real Life
October 08, 2020
It’s been a long while since I watched this one particular show.
Black Mirror
If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a science fiction show where it shows the dark sides of new technology.
Most of the episodes are dark, depressing, sometimes graphic. Rarely do they have light-hearted episodes. But what impresses me the most about this show is the unexpected plot twists.
But I’m not going to talk about that.
Today, I want to talk about a specific episode that’s also one of my favorites.
Nosedive.
If you haven’t seen this episode yet, there are most likely going to ... (read more)

379. Skydiver Recording His Potential Death?
October 07, 2020
The Internet has boggled my mind once again.
A new friend of mine found an interesting video while she was browsing through social media and forwarded it to me.
The video was a skydiver who was recording himself falling from the sky and his parachute not opening. The video ended after he gave the parachute the finger. This was all happening while the song “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter.
Is he alive? That’s the exact same question that thousands of other viewers asked too.
We’ll find out soon enough.
But I’m sure he has a backup parachute, so I’m optimistic about his situat... (read more)

380. The Mystery of Why People Love to Complicate Everything
October 06, 2020
For some reason, us people just love to make things more complicated than it has to be.
I can give so many different examples, but here are a few that I can name off the top of my head.
Drama. More often than not, I see some of my friends who are prone to getting themselves into dramas, get into these situations where the solution is so simple, but they make the problem sound more complicated than it actually is.
Our education. To be more specific, the notorious common core standards. I didn’t think it was possible to take something so fundamental like addition, subtraction, mul... (read more)

381. Trump's Secret Marketing Weapon to Get ‘UGE Engagement
October 05, 2020
I don’t like talking to people. Hmm…maybe that sounds a bit harsh. Let me put it in another way. I’d much rather prefer to talk less and listen to people talk instead. Although that may have slowed down the development of my social skills during the early parts of my life, I still learned quite a bit. And the things I learned can easily be applied to email copywriting and will make your emails highly engaging. And when there’s high engagement, that leads to more sales. One of the ways I talk about is constantly used by none other than our beloved 45th president of the ... (read more)

383. Putting an E-commerce Email Under the Mini-critique Spotlight
September 29, 2020
I received an email today. It was a newsletter from an e-commerce company I started following long ago, mainly because I know the owner. When I opened it, I can confidently say that this is one of those blatant sales pitch emails. It has the typical phrases you see in those kinds of emails. You know, phrases like: “Don’t miss out,” “__% off,” Or “Limited Time Only.” So why is this wrong? Well for starters, those emails can easily get caught by the spam filters. And B, there is nothing in that email that builds the relationship between the busin... (read more)

384. When You Assume, It Just Makes an A55 Out of You
September 26, 2020
A few days ago, I was helping a friend of mine with a business case study.
Yes, those infamous case studies that just make your brain hurt.
Except I wasn’t helping him solve it, I was proctoring the case.
This was one of the more straightforward cases compared to the ones we’ve done together in the past. The ones we normally tackle are somewhat misleading.
Anyways, this was how it went down.
I read the prompt to him.
He asks me questions based on the information provided.
If he asks the right questions, he uncovers more information that’ll get him closer to s... (read more)

385. How to Cheat Your Way to the Top In Business
September 25, 2020
One thing you should know about me is that I like to play video games. It has been a part of my life at a very young age.
However, as I got older, I came across video games where I dedicated a little more time to it and started playing the game competitively.
During that period of being active in the competitive scene, I met a lot of great friends, some of which I still keep in contact today. But I’ve also met some people who were extremely talented. By that I mean people who rose to the top of the scene very quickly.
To me, I’m amazed at the fact that they improved so fast. But... (read more)

387. The Grim Truth of American Healthcare That Nobody Wants to Think About
September 24, 2020
I’ve always known that the cost of healthcare in the U.S. was very expensive.
But I never put it into perspective until I watched a video where someone walks around the streets of the U.K. and asks people to guess the cost of healthcare in the U.S.
Here are some of the questions the interviewer asked.
Cost of two epipens?
U.K. resident’s guess: $80.
Actual cost: $600
Cost of childbirth?
U.K. resident’s guess: $100 - $200
Actual cost: On average $10,000

388. I Found the Woman Version of Trump
September 23, 2020
Twitch, a live streaming platform now owned by Amazon, is mainly a place where people stream videogames and monetize their content through donations and subscriptions. But another huge part of the platform is the “Just Chatting” section, which is exactly what it sounds like, where streamers just talk and interact with their audience. And the topics vary. They could be talking about absolutely nothing, they could be dancing, they could be streaming vlog style, etc. There are even political commentators on the platform. 389. Why Buying an Email List is Like Winning the Lottery Then Going Bankrupt
September 22, 2020
Once in a while, I still see services where you can buy email lists.
As far as my knowledge goes, the action of buying an email list itself isn’t illegal.
A huge maybe. I say that with 80% confidence. I mean, unethical tech companies buy and sell data all the time.
But I can say with 100% confidence that sending promotional emails to a paid email list is against the law. Plus, it’s a huge waste of money.
Here are some reasons why.
1. The most obvious reason is that it’s against the CAN-SPAM Act.
2. You don’t know if the email addresses are active, unmonitored or n... (read more)

391. George Foreman's Secret to Channeling Demand By Will
September 21, 2020
Over the weekend, I decided to go back in time and watch some old, short infomercials for fun.
I especially revisited the ones I remembered watching in the past. Some of them include:
Billy Mays on Oxiclean
Vince Shlomi on Shamwow
The press2paste commercial
But the most interesting one I came across was the 1996 George Foreman's Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine Infomercial. And the product does exactly what it sounds like, cooks food while draining their fat.
That particular infomercial was one of the longer ones, about 30 minutes.
I’ll be honest. Afte... (read more)

392. How Accurate are Facial Recognition Solutions-- and also Why Does It Issue?
September 20, 2020
Face acknowledgment has enhanced dramatically in just a few years. Since April 2020, the best face recognition algorithm has an error rate of just 0.08% compared to 4.1% for the leading formula in 2014, according to examinations by the National Institute of Specifications as well as Modern Technology (NIST). [1] As of 2018, NIST found that greater than 30 algorithms had actually achieved accuracies exceeding the most effective efficiency attained in 2014. These enhancements should be taken into account when taking into consideration the very best way to control the technology. Federal governme... (read more)

393. My Biking Skill Level: 4/10
September 20, 2020
It has been over 10 years since I put my hands on a bike.
Part of the reason why is that I live in New York City. Their public transportation makes it possible for me to go anywhere without a bike nor a car.
The other part is that I always preferred either using a scooter or walking with my two feet.
But if you asked me if I know how to ride a bike, my answer would be, “Maybe….Yes and no.”
Let me explain.
When I was first learning, I had trouble getting the initial pedaling down. Otherwise, when I’m in motion, it’s pretty easy.
But now that I’m a bit taller than I... (read more)

394. S.O.S. From An Affiliate Marketer With Shiny Object Syndrome
September 18, 2020
Yesterday, I saw this post in a Facebook group I’m in.
----------
Hey guys. I've been working on affiliate marketing for the last 10 months. I have signed up for various courses and "systems" I've spent 1000's $$$ jumping from the one thing to the next. I've tried drop shipping, but eventually came back to Affiliate Marketing. I'm starting to get really annoyed and frustrated. Mainly due to my own choices. I always seem to think that what I'm trying to do is too simple and that no one would buy it, and then I jump around to the next thing. It feels as if there is always a better cour... (read more)

395. The Dark Side of Internet Marketing
September 17, 2020
The world of Internet marketing is an interesting one indeed.
On the one hand, it’s great that it exists.
Starting a profitable business costs very little. You don’t have to worry about getting a lump sum of money. You just need a few hundred dollars to build a website and email list.
You have access to potential customers worldwide (For the most part).
You have the ability to promote yourself fast, and for free. Social media is a great example. SEO is another one. There’s also YouTube. And of course, sweet, sweet email.
But like everything else in life, there’s always... (read more)

396. Let's Rap About Politics
September 16, 2020
Ah, politics.
Something that I feel has been getting so much more attention now more than how it used to years ago, especially since Trump took over the White House.
It’s everywhere now.
Everything you do and say can (and probably will) be politicized when you talk to the right group of people.
Something as simple as wearing masks has been politicized.
The Black Lives Matter movement.
Climate change.
Each party has their own agenda with its own list of pros and cons.
No matter which side you choose, there’s always going to be one part of the population t... (read more)

397. This is How You Don't Wiggle Your Way Out of a Speeding Ticket
September 15, 2020
Once in a while, I like to go to an entertaining website called fmylife.com.
It’s where people can anonymously submit short stories of unfortunate events that happened in their lives. Some more disastrous than others.
For example, here’s a story I found pretty funny.
----------
Today, I got pulled over for speeding. Knowing how much more it would cost in the long run, I handed the officer my license with $300 in cash, "as something to consider for just a warning." He came back with a ticket and verbally warned me that police bribery is a felony. He kept the money. FML

398. A Clever Blackhat Resume Tactic
September 14, 2020
Apparently, there’s a new way employers review resumes of new candidates that I was never aware of until now.
What they do is they feed the resumes through a scanner to look for certain keywords. If they’re there, then the candidates will be granted an interview.
I never liked the idea of a machine taking over a human job. It’s not called “Human” Resources for no reason.
So one day, one of my friends taught me something to trick the scanners into qualifying you for an interview even if you’re not qualified at all. Basically what you do is insert the necessary keywords on your re... (read more)

399. Education and Pirated DVDs
September 11, 2020
I recently finished reading a book called,
How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia by Mohsin Hamid.
It’s about the journey of a boy, named “the protagonist” or “you,” from his childhood to his deathbed. He was raised in a village by his mother and father, both of whom died relatively early on in his life. This caused him to pursue entrepreneurship and built his own successful bottled water business.
At some point in his life, he met a woman simply named “the pretty girl.” When they first met each other, the pretty girl asked the protagonist if he knew anything about movies.

400. My Personal Definition of Happiness
September 10, 2020
Last night, I was on a voice call with three of my friends. Somehow our conversations transitioned from videogames to asking each other deep questions.
One of the questions we asked each other was,
“What is your definition of happiness?”
When it was my turn, I thought for a few moments and said,
“Any good moment you experience that makes you temporarily forget about everything else happening in your life.”
And I truly believe that statement.
Speaking from personal experience, whether I’m doing anything like spending time with family and friends, working on my hobb... (read more)
