Last month, I wrote an email with the subject line, “Never thought I’d see this on Linkedin.” And if you don’t know, I always take my daily emails and publish them on the blog page of my website, so I have an entire archive of daily emails there. But I also publish them in article directories for list building purposes. But according to their terms, other people are allowed to take my content and publish them on their own websites as long as they give credit, which I was fine with. Recently, I found a site that published my email about LinkedIn. But here’s the funny thing. This person did exactly what Joey did in that one episode of Friends when he wrote a recommendation letter for Monica and Chandler so they can adopt a baby. He took my email, took almost every single word, ran them through a thesaurus, and replaced the words with smarter sounding ones. For example, the email started off with this: ---------- As you may or may not know, LinkedIn is a social media platform for professional networking. Emphasis on “professional.” But once in a while, you’ll see content that you’d never think to ever come across on a platform like LinkedIn. All these posts about COVID, the masking issue, and all the other social justice issues, in my opinion, should stay on Facebook or Twitter. Yet, people still want to start fights with others about these topics. ---------- And that section turned to: ---------- As you could conceivably know, LinkedIn is an online media stage for proficient systems administration. Accentuation on “proficient.” In any case, every so often, you’ll see content that you’d never think to at any point go over on a stage like LinkedIn. This load of posts about COVID, the concealing issue, and the wide range of various social equity issues, as I would see it, should remain on Facebook or Twitter. However, individuals actually need to begin quarrels with others over these themes. ---------- I find it funny how people can do this and think, “You know, nothing about what I’m doing seems off at all.” Really? Never in my life have I heard someone use “online media stage” as a synonym for “social media platform.” Also, “proficient systems administration” and “professional networking” are two completely different things.
