Jodi Arias' Handwriting Analyzed By Joel Engel Jodi Arias mutilated Travis Alexander to death. At some point, she undoubtedly loved him. Psychoanalysts consider that one's emotional development goes through several phases. The first phase is the oral phase. During this stage, the child is completely self-centered. The whole world rotates around him and his whole spotlight is on the pleasure of his instant needs. If he stays entrenched in the oral stage, his future conduct will subconsciously reproduce what he learned during that phase, for instance outbursts, crying and shocking behavior with the aim of getting attention. Jodi Arias typifies this behavior. Unfortunately, she never outgrew this phase of her life. As determined from her script, the way that she learned to write is called the D'Nealian method. With this point in mind, the graphologist notices if the writer deviates from the way she was taught and then analyzes the variations. When a deviation is repeated, developing into a pattern, it has particular significance. Three variations are obvious: • The writing angle (of inclination) is upright. This reflects self-centeredness. • The lower zone under lengths (g's,'y's), are long, yet there aren't any return strokes; they are incomplete and neglected. This reveals huge interest in intimacy, yet coupled with romantic disappointment and fear. • The form of connection (of letters) is arcade. This discloses distrust. All of the three aforementioned points are repeated throughout her writing. They are a pattern. It is well-known among psychologists and therapists that a fear of loss ((in this case due to a romantic disappointment), and distrust, are components of jealousy. Owing to her feelings of rejection and only in consideration of numero uno, she brutally murdered him. When a person holds an image in his mind of someone he loves or respects, he tends to make that person’s appearance larger than it actually is. The opposite is also true: contempt and low regard for someone makes him reduce the image in size. These images are shown in his handwriting. In Ms. Arias' note, writing how bad she feels about his 'death,' she wrote "Travis" four times-and also used the word "myself," each consisting of six letters. Each and every Travis is clearly written smaller than her own "myself." She stabbed him 27 times and shot him in the head because she hated him!
