One word which strikes our mind after hearing name of Gurgaon is “Ultra planned city”. This city has everything which makes it stands out is its infrastructure, huge flyovers across city, metro connectivity which links Gurgaon to Delhi, corporate offices, broad roads shopping malls, toll bridge etc. But still there is some problems haunting city do you know what?? From ghost called “Traffic”. Although this city has broad expanded roads, but due to lack of proper planning this roads are keeping full with traffic. As Gurgaon is hub for many corporate offices, it is but natural that traffic lands here, it is the main reason why traffic congestion in Gurgaon takes place. Nowadays almost every second person is having his/her own vehicle. Hence instead of using public mode of transport, they commute by their own personal mode, resulting heavy traffic. You can easily see one car with only one person. Haryana government, local traffic police has suggested office goers that they can run car pulling, in which occupant of car can pull his/her office mates, friends to the office and in return can charge fare from them. Proper planning for roads near metro line and corporate offices is need of time. Areas which are most affected from traffic are: - Shankar Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Huda metro road, iffco Chowk. Commuters those who commutes from distance are also facing local transport problem. Auto driver’s charges random fares, private auto rickshaw takes two to three passengers in one trip like sharing autos. Generally, worst situation of traffic congestion in Gurgaon happens during peak hours of office time like in the morning and in the evening hours. During late evening additional congestion occurs as it’s also time for party night out goers. Situation turns more evil during monsoon; commuters are bound to wait for long hours in traffic, than local transport problem is big issue, people are force to walk when in emergency. Definitely there is some relief after metro started; it has shortened the distance between Delhi-Gurgaon, and then what? The time which we save through metro is wasted the time we step out and opt for road-way. Often media shows that in many shows of ngo’s and workshops, higher officer admits the traffic problem at Gurgaon and had sketched down few solutions to cut down these troubles, but all efforts resulted in negative. Traffic police should be increased in routes locked from heavy vehicles. Proper plan needs to execute for toll plaza, as it is also one of the main cause. Commuters face tremendous time loss in toll area. During monsoons, it takes minimum 1 hour to cross toll from nearest Shankar and atlas Chowk. It is very important to solve this various problems, so that coming time one can relate this city as clean and green city instead of a city with many problems.
