India being a vast country is dotted with people from different religions and ethnicities. People of India have their social values and sentiments intact and inclined towards the nation. Every single person is a patriot in own way. It is important to understand the civic encumbrance, in order to be a proper patriot or he should first become a good citizen. Our national constitution demands certain elemental duties which a citizen should practice to the best of his ability. In addition to this, the author is of opinion that, a citizen needs to position himself properly in the local and central administration system, so as to avail the services offered by the nation. Services offered to him by the nation are not favors but a citizen’s right. He should not waste the opportunities given to him in the form of materials/documents/services as; these opportunities are the one for the nation itself, for its growth. If the citizen does not consider the services, administrative procedures of the nation as important, then he in turn do not have the right to claim that he is important, in front of the nation. There have been many patriots which have laid their lives for the nation. Jana Gana Mana – the Indian National anthem is the song which binds everyone together. The Indian national anthem was originally first sung in 1911 in the Calcutta assembly but on 24th January 1950. The Indian freedom fighters were also notable poets. The aristocratic words of these freedom fighters would tingle the hair on anyone’s back of the neck. Batukeshwar Dutt, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and many more. Let us check out some incredible lines from these martyrs. Bhagat, Mein bhi tera hi to saaya hun, Bharat Maa kay liye apni maa ki kookh se tayyar hokar aaya hun – Batukeshwar Dutt Lala ji ne ahinsa se “Simon Waapas Jaao” ka diya tha naara, Phir bhi Angrezo ne unhe barbarta se maara. Atyachar badhta rahega, Lala ji jaisa har pujniye marta rahega, Jaise pehle tha ab bhi ye desh chhup hi rahega. – Bhagat Singh These words convey the feeling of patriotism which defined these incomparable legends. What else comes in your mind when you think of India? I think of our National anthem – Jana Gana Mana. It can be described as an amalgamation of words which binds different people from different regions in an uncanny fashion. A national anthem is arguably one of the most important aspects of a country’s independent status and it is the umbrella under which the country can rally and be proud of. This also encompasses the struggles of revolution and rebellion.
