Who would have thought that all the knowledge in the world would be at your fingertips? Think back to the traveling encyclopedia sales forces. I was just talking with someone the other day about university. The establishment felt human beings needed to get an institution of higher education degree to validate a real education. For those that want an university degree I totally cheer them if they wish to go that avenue. I made the point that my college was Google. Whether it is Google, You Tube, Wikipedia or just the internet in accepted, person's understanding is not our problem anymore. We have extensive access to all the knowledge in the world. The issue is turning information into competent knowledge or useful knowledge. If you want to be trained anything just go online and there will be a video or course on how to do whatever it is. No joke, I needed to change a tire on a big rig. So, I just looked it up on You Tube.no kidding check this video out Big Rig Tire Change You may think this is crazy but I have found video's on how to program my smart phone, to how to cook diner for my family. The knowledge is there folks we just have to access it and put it to use. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia like never before. Wikipedia is an evolving information base. For those that may not be familiar anyone can add content to Wikipedia. Their job is to evaluate the content to assure the end user that it is correct. Sue Gardner is the Executive Director of Wikimedia Foundation and had this to say on a You Tube video, "Imagine a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge. GoDaddy has been shutting down sites without due process or warrants whatsoever. That's right, Johnny Law says shut them down and GoDaddy does without even investigating. Steve Worona had this to say in is blog, ".On Friday Wikipedia announced that their migration from GoDaddy has been completed. All DNS registrations for the Wikimedia Foundation have been moved to MarkMonitor. The Wikipedia/GoDaddy schism goes back to a Tweet from Jimmy Wales in December: I am proud to announce that the Wikipedia domain names will move away from GoDaddy. Their position on sopa is unacceptable to us. At the time, GoDaddy was an avid supporter of SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, which eventually crashed and burned - along with its equally ill-begotten cousin PIPA - after an unprecedented outpouring of pressure from the Internet community. GoDaddy's newly installed management eventually changed its pro-SOPA policy to one of tepid neutrality, although it was too late to prevent "Dump GoDaddy Day" on December 29."
