In 1915 Breitling invented the first independent chronograph push-piece. Eight years later, it perfected the system of the stop/start functions from that of resetting, a mechanism that was extremely useful for the timing of sporting events and calculation of flight times. In 1934, Breitling created the second independent reset push-piece, a decisive breakthrough in watch-making history. In the 1930s, Breitling introduced a range of specialty onboard aviation chronographs for use in aircraft cockpits, which became immediately indispensable for pilots and were used by the British Royal Air Force in World War II on fighter planes. Travolta is sporting the new Navitimer model which features an aviation slide rule and the Breitling Caliber 01 movement. The popular Breitling Chronomat 41 is now available in a black and red color-set, limited to 2, 000 pieces. Under the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, there is a 41mm polished case with a black dial, instead of the blue dial found on the original watch, with a red central chronograph seconds hand and red counter hands. The original lines of the steel case are enhanced by all-polished finishes – as are the bracelet and the rotating bezel engraved with exclusive numerals. The breitling Super Avenger II replica watch has been chronometercertified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute). It is water resistant to 200 m (660 ft), and features 70 hour power reserve. The wristwatch is limited to only 2000 pieces, while pricing details are still unknown. Breitling global ambassador John Travolta popped into Singapore yesterday to launch Breitling’s limited edition Navitimer Blue Sky. This particular watch was commissioned specially by Breitling to celebrate the 60th anniversary of aviation’s iconic timepiece, the Navitimer. First launched in 1952, the Navitimer has been continuously manufactured for almost 60 years, making it the world’s oldest mechanical chronograph still in production. The Breitling Navitimer Blue Sky is limited to just 500 pieces — a fact which no doubt adds to its appeal and collectability. Breitling launches the Transocean Chronograph Unitime, a new worldtimer that simultaneously and constantly indicates the time in all 24 time zones. The watch has a new in-house “universal time” chronograph movement, the B-05. To change time zone, simply pulling out the crown and turning it in one-hour increments is enough to adjust in one smooth move the hour hand, city disc and the 24-hour disc, including the calendar — and none of these operations disturbs either the time or any timekeeping operations in progress. To celebrate the launch of the Continental GT V8 with its powerful new 4. 0 V8 engine, Breitling has created a 250-piece limited series of the Bentley GMT chronograph. Available with a choice of three dials (black, blue or grey), the Aerospace Evo can be worn with a leather, crocodile or rubber strap or with a titanium bracelet. Breitling introduces the “Blacksteel” version of its Navitimer Cosmonaute which also features the in-house B02 movement. The Blacksteel Navitimer Cosmonaute features the Navitimer’s trademark 24-hour dial and circular slide rule bezel. It is limited to 1000 pieces and will be low price. Based on a late 19th century design from Breitling’s archives, the timepiece comprises almost 700 parts. The 2010 vintage is a pocket-watch combining two of the most sophisticated complications in the horological repertoire. A perpetual calendar (displaying the date, day, month, leap years and moon phases) that takes account of the quadrennial occurrence of February 29th… Breitling wristwatches reflect a rich heritage of premium Swiss craftsmanship and design.
