It’s estimated that 1 in 68 children will be diagnosed with some sort of autism-related disorder. Autistic Disorder To fall into this category, a child must meet a list of rigid criteria. Their impairments are more severe than the two previously stated disorder. While their social skills will suffer, their language functions could be non-existent. They may also display repetitive behavior and be cognitively impaired. In some cases, these children also suffer from seizures and other medical complications. Even though those with autistic disorders may struggle socially, that’s no reason to count them out as contributing members of society.
