Often, many people would spend most of their savings on their wedding day since they regard it as once in a lifetime event.

The Gypsies, for many years have been practicing this kind of tradition, that if you succeed at kidnapping a girl and keep her with you for a couple days, she will become your wife. Probably it was a norm long time ago since paying the parents gold or money would cost a lot, it would be just easier and cheaper to kidnap a girl, make her fall in love with you and marry her, but at this age, it doesn't seem to make any sense, and it actually categorized as criminal activity, right? Well, you couldn't be more wrong. Even in today's culture, many gypsies still practice this kind of ritual and it's not strange among them that their daughters being kidnapped and suddenly becomes someone's wife.
Marrying An Animal to repel demons
Superstitions are no stranger to most culture, even among Western culture, especially when it comes to a wedding. It's like a must for brides to get something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue before they started their wedding ceremony, sometimes they would even 'borrow' from local gift shops aka stealing just to make sure they have those things, instead of risking bad luck to their marriage life. Sounds weird? well, it can't beat a ritual being practiced by a tribe in India. This tribe believe that in order to repel demons or ghosts or evils or whatever those things you wanna call, a bride or a groom needs to marry an animal....

Fat Farms You'd think everybody thinks slim girls with big boobs are all guys' dreams? And you'd expect your bride to be to look slim and sexy on your wedding day, right?
Well, not every culture thinks like that. This one culture in Mauritania, Africa actually would go for fat brides. Yep, FAT brides. They would make their soon-to-be bride to eat as much as she could and put on lots of weight so they would look attractive. Attractive I said? yes, the men in this country actually think FAT women are attractive. The chunkier she is, the more attractive she is to the men there.
