Once you feel more able, you can head out on the green and blue runs that, while still very much geared to the beginner, offer a little more of a challenge. The Ski Schools The number of reputable ski schools in this resort is huge and the company you book your ski break with will be able to help you organise your lessons as well. Lessons are an excellent way to improve no matter what level you’re at, and with most instructors speaking excellent English, you will find yourself picking up tips and growing in confidence by the minute. Top Tips for Beginners If you’re a true newbie when it comes to skiing, and are not planning to go too far on your week away, then you should bear in mind that purchasing a lift pass may not be necessary. The nursery slopes and lifts surrounding them are free of charge. Alternatively the ‘Cool Ski’ pass is an option that you can purchase on a day to day basis, depending on how you feel your skiing is going. This pass offers access to all of the beginner areas surrounding La Plagne. If you do want to have a go at some trickier slopes, you have the option of buying a full pass that covers you for four hours. This saves you buying one for the whole week that you may only use for an afternoon on your last day when you have built up confidence. The organisation of equipment hire can be done by the company you book your trip with and it is a good idea to sort this out before you arrive. Beginner skis are slightly shorter than more advanced ones and you need to make sure these are available.
