You can relax in the knowledge that your brand new house will not be a money pit. What's more, purchasing new homes is comparatively stress free - no bidding wars and no property chain. Once you put your deposit down you can relax in the knowledge that the house is yours. Whilst normally a low deposit will be enough to secure the deal, some builders will take your old house in part exchange which saves a huge amount on estate agents fees. Equity options are often available which is of great help to first-time buyers and usually the builder can offer a mortgage with competitive interest rates and monthly repayments. Reserve early and the builder will allow you to choose your kitchen, tiles and carpets. Also your new home is far safer than an old property with the installation of smoke alarms, fire doors, and fire-retardant materials. It will also be considerably more eco-friendly because of the degree of insulation, triple or quadruple-paned windows and efficient boilers and heaters. So forget beamed ceilings covered in dust and cobwebs, spiders crawling in under ill-fitting skirting boards and general upkeep that is never-ending. Know that your new house will be virtually repair free for many years – you know it makes sense.
