One of the most common complaints I hear from bloggers is that no matter how hard they try, they can't pass the 1000 daily views their blog receives. In those first days, it is very hard, because you have to invest a lot of effort and hard work with no certainty of achieving results at the end. If you are at the same situation, here's a simple strategy that certainly will increase traffic to your blog and will help you break the mark of 1000 daily views. In fact, this strategy can also be used if you have already passed that 1000 daily number. Make sure you follow 4 steps exactly and spend 2 and half hours a day (of course, if you have more time you can extend the time spent in each of the four phases). First step: Killer articles (one hour per day)! Spend one hour brainstorming, researching and writing "killer articles". Note that your goal is to publish one killer article every week. If it is not possible, then one new article every 15 days. In other words, we expect that writing an article will take between 5 to 10 hours of work. If you are not familiar with the term, a "killer article" is nothing more than a long and structured article that has the goal of providing a tremendous amount of value to potential visitors. If you have a Web design blog, for example, you could write an article about something like "100 free resources for designers". Here are some ideas for killer articles: • Create a huge list of resources! • Write a detailed manual on how to do something • Find a solution to a common problem in your niche and write about it or write a deep analysis on a topic that people talk about only in a superficial way. When visitors come across your killer article, you want them to return the following reaction: "it's amazing! I will publish it on my website and even on my Twitter account to allow my friends know about it". Step two: Networking (30 minutes a day) The networking is essential, especially when you are just starting out. The 30 minutes you spend each day, you can be split among: -Post comments on other blogs in your niche! - Link to the pages of other bloggers in your niche, and Interact with bloggers in your niche by using emails, Facebook or Twitter. Remember that your goal is to build a real relationship, and therefore you cannot refer to people just because you think they can help you to promote your blog. Get close to them because you respect their work and because you think that you both can grow together! Step Three: Promotion of your articles The first task is promoting your articles. Each time you publish, you have to push it and promote in any way you can. Examples include: To inform the people on the web about yourself and your website (not to beg for backlinks) -To ask some friends to submit the article to social bookmarking sites. -Ask some friends to post the article on Twitter/Facebook -To publish your article in the forums and/or free article websites. If you have more spare time, spend it on promoting the website in search engines, on social media marketing and promotional activity of your blog content. These activities can vary from researching for keywords to promote your blog and advertising on Facebook and other blogs. Step four: Regular posts (30 minutes a day)! Just like a human being that can't survive on only eating bread, blog won't succeed only by publishing killer articles. Regular posts are published regularly on your blog, between the killer articles. For example, you can publish your killer article every Sunday and standard posts - from Mondays to Saturdays. Here are some ideas for your regular posts: -Post that contains a link to another blog article, which contains your opinion about it. -Post that informs your readers about news in your niche! -Post that asks a question in order to initiate a discussion. -Post that highlights a new trick or resource that will be useful to your readers. Killer articles are essential to promote your blog and bring new readers aboard, regular posts are the ones that create diversity in your content and keep your readers engaged and involved.
