1. The link between CBT and anger
March 22, 2018

The basic hypothesis of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, is that our emotions are greatly influenced by our cognitions. Or, put in plain English, "we feel what we think". Anger is, of course, a very common emotion and as such is not necessarily a problem. Getting angry occasionally can be entirely appropriate - I think we can all empathise with people who are angry because their car's been stolen or someone's spreading rumours about them. But anger can get out of hand - either through becoming too frequent or becoming too intense - and this certainly can be a problem. And with ... (read more)

2. Ways CBT can be used
March 22, 2018

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of counselling that helps clients understand how thoughts and feelings influence behaviour. CBT has helped teens with various issues, including, anger, low opinion of oneself, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence, and many other problems. For example, a teen who constantly thinks about being made fun of, his weaknesses, his failures and mistakes, his lack of fit in social groups, will very likely avoid social situations (because thoughts affect behaviour). CBT works by helping teens change their thoughts regarding certain events. Th... (read more)

3. CBT & Anger management
March 22, 2018

CBT is the combination of two psychotherapies, cognitive psychotherapy and the earlier behavioural psychotherapy or behaviourism. Cognitive psychotherapy is especially useful for anger management. Cognitive psychotherapy is the therapy of thoughts... cognitions are just thoughts. The basis of cognitive psychotherapy is that a thought creates an emotion, therefore our emotions are a product of our thoughts. Emotions make behaviours which is why behaviourism combines so well with cognitive psychotherapy. A thought creates an emotion which creates a behaviour or action. This means that ... (read more)

January 10, 2018

What is Parental Alientation? Parental alienation is when one parent, usually the custodial parent, bad mouths the other parent, usually the non-custodial parent, to the children. He or she will lie about the other parent and make them seem like the worst person in the world. Although often done intentionally, there have been cases as well where a parent will engage in such hostile aggressive parenting unconsciously. He or she may still be upset from the divorce and express his or her anger in the wrong way in front of the children. By virtually attempting to brain wash a child, the ... (read more)

5. The Mood of Red
November 10, 2017

According to psychologists the color of a room has an effect on your emotions. Here we look at the color red in home decor and the resulting effect on one's mood. Red is a warm color and associated with strong emotions such love, comfort and warmth. While red seems to evoke these strong positive feelings it also appears to exacerbate strong or negative feelings such as anger or wrath. The color red apparently intensifies our emotion... 7. Hiring in the ideal cat sitting services
July 08, 2017

Cats do not adapt well to new people or places. Cats usually do not like being left behind when you leave for a trip. Even a well trained cat can get angry that you left, and express its anger in many ways, such as scratching furniture or failing to use its litter box as it was trained to do. If your cat is allowed to stay outside, it may express its anger by running off and taking up with another household. Cats have minds of their own. They seldom warm up to people instantly. If you want your cat to stay at your home while you're gone, then it is important to choose a sitter that your c... (read more)

15. Putin Delivers Conciliatory Annual 'State of Nation' Speech
December 01, 2016

Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual "state of the nation" address Thursday was less remarkable for what it contained than for what it lacked -- anger and blame heaped on countries supposedly looking to make an enemy of Russia. November 30, 2016

A Chinese state institution warned this week that Beijing is ready to set up an air defense identification zone (ADIZ) over the contested South China Sea, giving it the authority to screen foreign aircraft. But analysts say any enforcement would anger other countries without deterring traffic. That measure would follow a series of steps to control the movement of foreign ships in the same sea, underlining China's intent to hold its vast maritime claims after a world court tribunal...... 21. Election Experts Puzzled Over Surprise Trump Victory
November 09, 2016

Many elections experts are trying to decipher Donald Trump's surprising presidential victory that defied most poll projections as he chalked up wins in states that have favored Democrats in past elections.
