There are 50 countries in Europe " so you cannot visit all of them on a trip to Europe (unless you have several months). Instead you should focus your energy on a few large cities. In the following you can read about 4 cities in 4 countries, which have unique sights, food and/or nightlife. Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Amsterdam is probably the most liberal minded city in the world. Here you can legally buy both sex and hashish. In the Red Light District you find windows with women in all sizes from around the world. And in the so-called coffeeshops you can legally buy hash. If you are more into art, Amsterdam is also the place to go. Here you can find great paintings by Van Gogh and Rembrandt. Or you can visit the fantastic Anne Frank House, which is known from the famous Anne Franks Diary. Barcelona, Spain. Okay, the capital of Spain is Madrid. But who cares " the place to go is Barcelona. Here you can find everything for a great city break: fine food, great sights and a superb nightlife. Sport fans should also visit the home ground of the famous FC Barcelona, Camp Nou. The most amazing sight in the city is Sagrada Famlia " the unfinished cathedral constructed by Antoni Gaud. Other places not to miss are the pedestrian street La Rambla, the harbor area and Barceloneta with the great tapas and seafood. Budapest, Hungary. The Danube (known from the famous The Blue Danube waltz by Johan Strauss) divides Budapest in two: the hilly Buda on the left and the flat Pest on the right. The sightseeing should be focused on the Castle Hill in Buda and the central part of Pest, where the greatest sights are found. Must see sights are the Royal Palace and the National Gallery. The large parks on Margaret Island are a pleasant place to relax and wander in the afternoon. The best shops are found in Vci Street and in Westend City Center " the largest shopping centre in Central Europe. Prague, the Czech Republic. If you need a cheap vacation, Prague could be the place to go. Even though the prices have gone up since the Cold War, you can still find cheap accommodation and eating in Prague. The city has many great sights. A good place to start is Star Mesto, which is the old part of the city. Here you can see the impressive Astronomical Clock. From there you can follow the Charles Bridge over the Vltava River " remember to look at the paintings and souvenir. On the other side you find the Prague Castle " known as the biggest ancient castle in the world. Other great sights are the Jewish Museum, the Kafka Museum and the historical Jewish ghetto Josefov.
