After losing someone or something you love it is very painful. You may experience all kinds of difficult and surprising emotions, such as shock, anger and guilt. Sometimes it seems like the sadness is overwhelming and will never go away. While these feelings are frightening and overbearing, they are all normal reactions to a loss. Accept them as part of the grieving process and allow yourself to feel what you are feeling as necessary for healing. There are healthy ways to cope with the pain. Grief that is expressed and experienced has a potential for healing that can strengthen and enrich life. You may associate grief with the death of a loved one, in which this type of loss tends to cause the most intense grief. However any loss can cause grief, such as: loss of health loss of income/job miscarriage death of pet loss of friendship The more significant the loss, the more intense the grief. Grieving is a personal and individual experience. How you grieve could depend on different factors, such as your personality, your life experience, your faith, and the nature of the loss. There is not a time limit on grieving, healing happens gradually and can't be rushed or forced. It is important to be patient with yourself, and allow the process to naturally unfold. There five common stages of grief: denial:this can't be happening anger:why is this happening? bargaining:reverse this and in exchange I will.... depression:I am to sad to do anything acceptance:I am at peace with what happened If you are are experiencing any of these emotions after a loss your reaction is natural and you will heal in time. You do not have to go through all these stages in order to heal. There is not a typical response to loss, as there is no typical loss. discounted ebooks, music and more!
