What is a Nerf gun? It is simply a gun you go to war with, but it is not any old gun. Don't tell me you haven't heard of a Nerfwar either, oh my, where have you been hiding lately (excuse the pun). Nerf guns are used by people of all ages that want to do battle. Nerf wars are the biggest craze at the minute, so if you have a son or partner who has always dreamed of being a commando then now is the chance to help him fulfil that dream by gifting him one. For the men in your life, why not this Christmas give him or them a Nerf gun to while away the hours shooting at human targets, or other. The guns make ideal Christmas gifts and fabulous birthday presents for boys The Nerf gun is a toy, a plaything if you like for everyone to enjoy, and boy do they enjoy. They were designed for safe indoor play that either shoots or is made of foam-like material. NERF stands for Non-Expanding Recreational Foam. There are various types of foam-based artillery, but just as popular are other Nerf toys, such as balls for sports like soccer and basketball and other game activities too. One toy that lads and the big lads to like dad and granddad are going crazy about, are the dart guns (referred to by Hasbro as "blasters") that shoot missiles made from Nerf foam. Nerf War Battle Descriptions Elimination Teams: Can have two or more Purpose: Slay the enemy. Overview: Elimination is by far one of the easiest Nerf games to catch onto fast. If you are a beginner then I suggest giving the Elimination game a go till you get the hang of the shootout. A common variant in NIC Nerf wars is 3-15 elimination which features lives and re-spawning and makes fast-paced, short games. 3-15: Members of each side go into the game with three lives each and no more. When you have been shot and all your lives gone, there is no way you are getting back in on the action (your dead and that is final). All who go to war are tagged; if any member of the team loses a life play stops for them for about 15 seconds. The game will start again but with them "moving outside of combat and yelling "clear" when the 15 seconds has lapsed. 4-20: This game is pretty much similar in its regulations as the 3-15, but in this game each participant is given four lives and has to count up to twenty. Players have more time on the battlefield with their Nerf gun in this game than they do playing the 3-15. Wingman: Again very much like the 3-15, only played with two-man teams. Another name used for this battle is Tag Team. Shields: If someone hits their target with their high powered weapon, the fighter that is wounded has to count down from 15. If at any time throughout the count they are shot, they're out of the game. You have more chance of a win going in your favour if you promote teamwork and blasters with a high rate of fire. Medic Teams: Can have two or more Objective: Take the enemy out. Overview: Each team will have to choose or nominate a member of their side to be the medic. This person is then armed with one sidearm e.g. N-strike Maverick and wears something that will alert others so they recognize them as the medic Those going to battle have one life, and when shot has to lie down flat on the ground. The Medics service is needed and will be called upon to treat the injured party. The medic has to heal the wound by placing two hands on it while at the same time shouting heal, putting that player back in play. Unfortunately the medic now becomes a sitting duck because when having to place both hands out to heal it makes him/her vulnerable, having no Nerf gun in their hand. Sadly it is over for the medic if shot because he/she cannot be brought back to life. Have you ever wanted to kill your best friend for some reason or other, or maybe your boss?
