Quick And Easy Housecleaning Tips

Home Improvement
A few tips designed for those with very little time on their hands. By following a few simple steps once or twice a week, anyone can realize the benefits of a clean and organized home.

Due to the fact that most people tend to lead lives which are full to the brim of job obligations, children, volunteer work and whatever else you can think of, it’s no surprise that in many cases, housecleaning will fall to the bottom of the priority list. However, keeping a clean living space can just as important as providing for it, and as such, figuring out ways to keep up on the household chores is essential. For those looking for ways which will enable them to enjoy the luxuries of a clean home without all the time and hassle generally associated with house cleaning, there is still hope. In this article, we will outline a few quick and easy tips to help you take care of the your lower priorities, without compromising those at the top.

Step 1 – Front Door

Step outside and open the front door as a visitor might. The view from your front door leading into the house will be the first impression someone will see from the outside. Try to remove all footware, backpacks and jackets from view. Perhaps even consider investing in a coat rack, which may solve all three, depending on the type. A nearby closet is also a wonderful idea. Once this is done, do your best to maintain it.

Step 2 – The Bathroom

Invest in a container of toilet cleaner and follow the directions. Use windex to tend to the mirror, vanity, tub and sink. Next, take a minute to scrub the toilet. Wipe the seat and bowl with the paper towels used to clean the sink. Use an additional paper towel to pick up any hair or dust in corners or at the base of the toilet. Throw away the bathroom trash. Keep clean towels available and wash those that have been used.

Step 3 – Living Room

Head to your bedroom and grab an empty laundry basket. Head to the living room and throw in everything that does not belong onto the basket. Send all dishes to the dishwasher. Distribute the contents of the laundry basket to their correct places. If you’re short on time, you can always hide it in your bedroom until later. Straighten any magazines and dust throughout the room, including any electronics and the table tops.

Step 4 – Routine

Now that you’ve got the basics down, it’s just a matter of keeping up on them. The idea is to take care of any items as soon as you are through using them are essential with having good house cleaning habits. Be sure to place all used dishes in the dishwasher and picking up any random items before you head to bed. You don’t have to sweep every night, but it’s a good practice to shoot for at least once a week. The same rule could apply to vacuuming. Once you’ve kept the routine going long enough, house cleaning will become second nature and you likely won’t even think much about dirty dishes or items of clothing in the living room.
