After much preparation, the city of Guangzhou, China is well and ready to play host to the 2010 Asian Games this November. This historical structure is dedicated to the legend of 5 immortals that descended into the city from heaven and was constructed during the Northern Song Dynasty. Another famous attraction is the Temple of Six Banyan Trees which dates back to the 6th century and including a towering 17 story, eight-sided pagoda. Not to be outdone by its glorious past, Guangzhou is fast becoming a city of contemporary structures.
