Vaginal Odour - How To Tell It Is A Yeast Infection Is The Symptoms Discharge Smelly Vagina & Itch?

Health,Fitness
Is my vagina supposed to smell the way it does? Why when I wash my vagina is there still an unpleasant odour? I have tried several feminine products, some cheap and some expensive to rid my vaginal odor, and yet I still have the problem, why is this? In answer to question one, yes the vagina has its own unique smell, but rarely strong enough to have you turn your nose up. However in some cases when it's not possible to get to a wash room throughout the day due to whatever the circumstance that prevents this, then aside from an original vaginal scent it is likely there is a pee or sweat odour – if this what you mean by the way it does.

Of course smells of this sort can be dealt with using nothing more than soap and water, but should the odour be caused by a vaginal infection then a quick swill is not going to do the job.

Number two/three question, regardless of how much you pay for a product, or the amount of water you use, if the smell is caused by something other than your everyday expected causes then antibiotics is what you may need and not a spray can of fragrance.

If you have a problem with a smelly midsection that betrays an unhealthy vagina then you need to look at why this is, and ways to treat the problem to be shut of it.

What is the vagina supposed to smell like and is it natural to have a vaginal discharge? Good question and one with various answers depending on different times, for instance: during the menstrual cycle, it is normal to have a variety of vaginal discharges. Discharge can take the form of the non-fertile, viscous- and gooey-type discharge to the fertile, slimy and see through-type discharge that happens near to menstruation.

Your usual vaginal discharge to look at is a sort of milky white, but an abnormal discharge is likely to smell, and maybe cause itch with the colour being any one of grey yellow or green. Why is "brown" discharge not included, while it is not milky white, there is usually a reason for brownish discharge (remaining blood from a period). Having said that still something to be checked out.

To help speed up the process to rid a vaginal smell is to get to the root cause for it being there in the first place. Restoring the vagina back to health will include ruling out the possibility of particular vaginal conditions like bacterial vaginosis, a yeast infection or trichomonas vaginitis – all known for odour and discharge.

Bacterial vaginosis

Still to date the cause of bacterial vaginosis remains unclear, but is down on paper as linked to sexual activity and douching in some studies. Researchers say a sexually transmitted virus that infects vaginal lactobacilli could cause bacterial vaginosis.

Vaginal lactobacilli, is a needy source that maintains a healthy pH and bacterial balance within the vagina. If this balance is affected by a virus, the vagina becomes vulnerable to infection because it no longer has a protective barrier.

It is vital that bacterial vaginosis is treated because if ignored it can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, tubal pregnancy, or, pre-term labour in pregnant women. BV is normally treated effectively with either oral antibiotics or antibiotic vaginal inserts. If you experience an unpleasant fishy vaginal odor and white or grey milk-like discharge then these symptoms are familiarly linked to the BV infection, but to be certain visit a doctor.

Yeast infection

Overgrowth of the yeast Candida albicans is mainly held responsible for causing yeast infections. A lot of women may have experienced an overgrowth of vaginal yeast at some time because they had taken specific antibiotics, been pregnant, have diabetes, or refused to loosen up their clothing around the vagina.

A lot of women treat their own yeast infection successfully without having to see a doctor, however you have to be certain you have one before you going rubbing ointment inside the vagina to make the problem better in case it's not the problem you think it is, and likely because of your hasty actions you could be left with more vaginal problems to treat that what was intended in the first place.

Aside from over the counter preparations to treat yeast infections that can be obtained in chemists, many women get yeast infection relief by moderating sugar consumption and supplementing their daily diet with certain foods that contain Lactobacillus (L.). It has been suggested by medics to eat foods that contain at least three of the types of Lactobacillus listed below if you want to cure a yeast infection naturally: L. acidophilus, L. fermentum. L. Plantarum, L bulgaricus, L. casei, or L. rhamnosus. Always check with your own doctor first before trying something new.

While scientists tirelessly look for solutions that range over the effectiveness of Lactobacillus against fighting yeast infections, women while waiting have said they have noticed their vaginal infections get better after supplementing their diet with probiotic.

How vaginal discharge would appear and smell if a yeast infection is present. Symptoms include a white cottage cheese-like discharge, itching, redness, and irritation.

Trichomonas vaginitis

Trichomonas vaginitis is the third most common cause of vaginal infections. This is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a tiny single-celled parasite and treated with antibiotics. Typical symptoms see an Increase in vaginal discharge, possible itching, redness and a yellowish-greenish discharge.

Keeping good vaginal health does not include making big sacrifices like keeping your legs closed forever to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. All it takes is some common sense by using protection whenever having sex, along with a few other easy to follow steps which are listed below. Once again get the thumbs up from your GP if you tend on douching or messing around with your diet.

The vagina needs to breathe, but it is not going to be able to do this if you wear tight underwear or other.

Swap pantyhose for knee-highs or thigh-highs instead to stop suffocating the vagina.

Choose cotton over synthetic underwear.

Think condom at all times if sex is on the agenda.

Add one teaspoon of boric acid or a half-cup of hydrogen peroxide to two quarts of warm water. Use the boric acid or hydrogen peroxide douche for 14 days and stop. The boric acid and hydrogen peroxide should raise the amount of lactic acid within the vagina. This dosage of lactic acid helps restore the proper bacterial balance inside the vagina and lessens the odds of re-infection.

Cut down on sugar to avoid feeding the yeast.

Hastily making a self diagnosis of a vaginal infectionis not good measure so you need to be careful.

Avoid seeing a doctor and treat your own vaginal yeast infection naturally and rid Vaginal Odor
