Certainly for some women, pregnancy can be difficult and uncomfortable and all women usually feel tired most of the time. However, the minute you hold your baby for the first time, it will all be forgotten – well at least mostly. In fact, if you try to enjoy your pregnancy, and revel in it, the time will fly by. There are some things to remember during pregnancy.
Eating healthy and exercising are important part of any healthy lifestyle and pregnancy is not a time for compromising these two things. Of course, you want to take it easy during pregnancy, but that doesn’t mean you get lazy. It’s important to get plenty of exercise. You may have to change how you exercise, like walking instead of running. Swimming is an excellent exercise to do during pregnancy, especially during the end of pregnancy when balance may be off due to your swollen belly.
The other important aspect of a balanced lifestyle is eating healthy and drinking plenty of fluids, especially water. Drinks with caffeine and sodium, like sodas, are not recommended except in moderation. Just because you are “eating for two” does not mean you eat constantly and eat unhealthy foods. Fresh whole foods are always best, limiting fried, fatty, sweet and salty foods to just occasionally.
Pregnancy is a time to be savored and enjoyed. Continuing or beginning a healthy lifestyle will make the pregnancy and the birth of your precious baby even easier.
