Why a Chopard on Your Wrist Means More than Any Other Luxury Watch

Fashion & Cosmetics,Advertising
The tradition of Chopard watches began in 1860 in a small village known as Sonvilier. A talented Swiss watchmaker known as Louis-Ulysse Chopard started up a workshop that made Swiss watches. He built a reputation for making luxury watches within a short period of time. The timepieces were bought by people living as far away as Eastern Europe, Russia, and even Scandinavia.

The founder's son, by the name of Paul Louis Chopard, eventually opened up a new shop at La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1921. As he took on a more cosmopolitan customer base, he relocated again to Geneva in 1937, the capital of Fine Watchmaking.

In 1943, the business was taken over by Paul Andre Chopard. When none of his sons wished to inherit the company, he started looking for a buyer in 1963. It was then that he met Karl Scheufele, who was the descendant of a long lineage of watchmakers.

It was at this time that the Chopard brand began to take off as an incredibly successful Swiss watchmaker. Chopard watches became well known as creative, state of the art, and high in craftsmanship. The Swiss watches became a well known name in the market of luxury watches and timepieces. Throughout this entire period, the company has remained a privately owned business, allowing for quality control to remain an extremely high priority.

The fact that the company has remained an independently owned entity has allowed for a very strict set of rules and principles to be laid down regarding the values of the company. Independence is one of the strongest principles of the company. This allows for a high degree of vertical integration, keeping the business from straying away from its core principles.

The company also places a very high degree of emphasis on quality and excellence. Only the best employees are hired, and they are very specialized within their fields. Over forty five different crafts are pursued by workers in the company.

Creativity is considered to be extremely important to the business. This applies to all levels of the business, including the research and development department, the skill and the art of design, and the interaction with customers. Members communicate with one another globally to help further foster this dedication to innovation.

The company also places a great deal of importance on heritage. This is taken into account not only in terms of who is in charge of the company. The training of the craftsmen who work on the watches is of the highest quality, as the craftsmen are by far the heart of the company. The production process is continually improved and cultivated, and information is passed on to new workers through training and mentorship.

Chopard treats customers, suppliers, and staff with the utmost respect. The respect is also paid to the tradition and the history of the company. Furthermore, the company contributes to many philanthropic causes. Some examples of this are the Jose Carreras Leukemia Foundation, the Prince's Charities promoted by the Prince of Wales, and the Elton John AIDS foundation. The company also takes social responsibility and environmentalism seriously.

Finally, the company has a willingness to take risks. Running a successful business means that the determination to grow is vital, and taking risks with an eye for the possible rewards and failures is what fuels a company to thrive rather than simply survive. Every model produced by Chopard has its own unique history.

The hands of Chopard Imperiale watches are designed to look like tapered daggers. The lugs are built like small antique columns. The rose gold versions come with an amethyst cobochon, and the white gold versions come with blue sapphires. The crown is lotus shaped and the sides are pure and free of clutter. The round case is available in luxurious rose and white gold as well as stainless steel. Finally, the face of the watch consists of a beautiful mother of pearl base that has been engraved with the appearance of an embroidered cushion.

Some of the most impressive watches that they have to offer belong to the Tech Concept line. This consists of watches that mix the lineages of tradition and avant-garde. The watches display their inner workings in a way that is both high tech and high art.
