Time sneaks up on us in the funniest places. The older we get, the harder the body must work to break down fat. So if you're not paying attention lumpy deposits will creep in and create a dimpled surface around the buttocks, hips and thighs. Yes – cellulite. |
Once cellulite starts to form, it can be difficult to negate. However, a few changes in your routine can help break down the fatty deposits that cause cottage cheese looking skin.
Fat needs exercise and movement in order to break down. There is nothing those fatty sections like more than a couch potato. So get up and move around. At least once an hour, you should be actively moving, walking or stretching to increase your circulation and stimulate your body's natural fat burning process. Even if you work at a desk all day, get up once an hour and walk around the office, get a glass of water or simply stretch out a bit.
If you're a nibbler, nibble healthy. Adding lots of fruits and vegetables to your diet will reduce the intake of fats to your body, so you won't be creating more fuel for the cellulite. A well structured diet includes a variety of wholesome foods. Things to avoid include fried foods, sugary foods and soft drinks.
Targeting your exercise routine will focus on the areas where the fatty deposits are. Talk to your fitness trainer or do a search online to make sure your work out is including toning exercises that will help rid you of cellulite. Because it often appears around the thighs, hips and buttocks, regular exercises don't always have an impact.
Using moisturizing creams that contain caffeine will plump up the skin around the dimples and decrease the look of cellulite. Caffeine is a natural stimulate and has proven extremely effective in smoothing out the dimpled areas of the skin.
It would be nice if cellulite could disappear overnight, but until science discovers a way to make that happen, a little extra effort will work off your cellulite.
