Just because you were born with pencil thin lips, certainly doesn't mean you have to live with them. In this day and age, there are plenty of solutions for filling out and plumping up the lips and mouth. Surgery: While surgery may not be the answer for everyone, many people enjoy permanently fuller lips by going under the knife. Plastic surgery uses natural or synthetic fillers to fill out the lips giving them substance. As with any procedure, there are risks involved, such as a reaction to the anaesthesia or even the filling substance. There will also be a substantial recovery time waiting for stitches to heal, when it will be difficult to eat or drink. Injections: Injections aren't a permanent solution, but they do last several months. It's another procedure that increases the fullness of lips by injecting them with a filler. Injections don't have as many side effects as surgery and the recovery time is minimal. There are, however cautionary side effects, such as poor reactions or damage to other muscles that can occur. Nevertheless, the results of injections are impressive enough to make this a very popular option for plumping up thin lips. Cosmetics: If the thought of putting anything under the skin of your lips is absolutely out of the question, you can still give your lips a boost with a volume stimulating cosmetic. There are a wide variety of glosses and lipsticks that add ingredients like caffeine or cayenne to temporarily give you fuller, thicker lips. While the results only last a couple hours, it's a low cost solution you can carry in your purse and reapply as you need to. The chances of a bad reaction are extremely rare, and it's easy enough that anyone can do it. Plumping up your lips can be a quick fix with lip gloss or a permanent change with surgery. Either way, in these modern times, you don't have to keep the skinny smile that comes from thin lips. Discover more gorgeous beauty tips and advice at our beauty website.
