So, it was 10:00 pm and you were driving along what you thought was an empty and quiet road. It was in a residential neighborhood and you figured nobody was around so it would be okay to roll through the stop sign. But there he was: the cop just sitting there waiting to pull somebody over. Or maybe you were in a hurry and traveling 80mph on the highway where the speed limit was 65. Then you saw the lights. You may want a Florida traffic school. The benefits to these schools are that they will keep points from your license and prevent your insurance rates from going up. Speeding by 15mph or less will earn you 3 points to your license as will driving with an open container, failure to adhere to child restraint laws and other violations. 4 points are given for speeding by more than 15mph, passing a stopped school bus, ignoring stop signs, red lights and other traffic signals, reckless driving and moving violations that result in an accident. Speeding violations that result in accidents and leaving the scene of an accident will rack up 6 points. Points remain on your license for 3 years and licenses can be suspended if too many points accumulate. If you are ticketed for any of these offenses, the points will really make insurance costs rise and will likely make it difficult to switch insurance carriers. By taking the driver class, you can prevent these headaches. While you will still have to pay the fine related to the ticket, the fine is usually reduced when you opt to attend the school. Florida traffic school has several options. The first is to take the class online. Here, students locate a state approved course and lessons are given on the internet. The test is taken at the completion of the instruction. This is the most convenient as it can be taken at any time of the day, any day of the week. You may also take a class sin person. There are classes held regularly in most cities and towns in the state. Some are serious in nature while others attempt to make it light and fun. They may even refer to themselves as "comedy" schools. If you have to go, it might as well be amusing.
