BULLION BARS AND COINS |
Worldwide demand for silver kilo coins from The Perth Mint continues at an unprecedented level as we prepare to ship the 100,000th coin since the introduction of 2011 designs last September!
100,000 kilo coins equates to 3,215,100oz of 99.9% pure silver.
Perth Mint Wholesale Manager Neil Vance said he was delighted that so many buyers were interested in the products. Recently returned from the World Money Fair in Berlin, a traditional gathering ground for the international coin industry, he said this year’s Kookaburra, Koala and Lunar designs had been strongly praised.
“There’s no escaping the fact, however, that their huge popularity has much to do with the fact that they are the cheapest silver bullion coins per ounce available anywhere in the world," Neil said.
"Sales to-date of 100,000 coins suggests buyers are very happy with this year's superb kilo releases."
Bulls Back In Favour In The Media?
Readers who follow our news News and Reports page will know that the media loves to quote experts prepared to predict gold and silver prices. Another interesting story caught my attention this morning. News agency Bloomberg asked five analysts it ranks “as the most accurate over two years” to predict where prices will be at the end of 2011. The “median of their estimates” results in an expectation that silver will rise as much as 24 per cent and gold by 20 per cent before year’s end. This follows Newmont CEO Richard O'Brien’s pronouncement on CNBC that gold will trade as high as US$1,500 an ounce this year with “continued upside from there over the next couple years.”
1oz Year Of The Rabbit Coins Sold Out
BULLION BARS AND COINS
Chinese New Year celebrations had barely begun when we signed wholesale distribution agreements for the last 1oz gold and final 1oz silver Australian Lunar – 2011 Year of the Rabbit bullion coins.
Within a day or two we will have shipped all 30,000 gold coins and 300,000 silver coins from the Mint, allowing us to declare official sell out of both sizes.
As a result, 1oz gold and silver Rabbits have already been removed from sale on www.perthmintbullion.com.
This is a great result for the Australian Lunar program reflecting not only strong demand for gold and silver from around the world, but also the attractive design and superb strike quality of The Perth Mint’s bullion coins.
