Is Benidorm safe for families? This is a common question raised by many concerned tourists/holidaymakers travelling to this town in the Costa Blanca. Spain is without doubt and especially more so Benidorm - one of Europe's busiest resorts where visitors return year after year in the millions from all over the world to holiday. So answers to this question may differ from each individual who voice an opinion or tell a tale of their experience in this Spanish town Violence in Benidorm town has been highlighted profoundly of late, therefore giving families with young children reason for concern over their safety and for their own. Latest bulletins show how a British holidaymaker was paralysed from the neck down and his friend left unconscious after a fight/brawl erupted outside a nightclub in the so-called British quarter. Another alarming story told is that of Mr Graham Heggie, a 27-year-old holidaymaker from Scotland who died in the town centre after a being involved in brawl just yards from his holiday apartment in which he was staying. Pensioner Alex Prosser, 73 was subject of a brutal mugging attack leaving him in hospital suffering from a fractured skull in Benidorm, and all for a measly £28. However in highlighting these barbaric actions, Benidorm is now under threat because people are slowly shying away from a holiday resort that is ideal for families' couples and even singles in search of a holiday romance. Is Benidorm safe for families, this is a debateable subject because we can go onto say is England safe for families to visit or France Germany etc. It think it is now accepted the whole world over that violence prevails no matter what destination you choose to have your vacation (town city or country of visit). So there you have it in a nutshell, Benidorm is, safe for families - just as safe as it is flying the family out to Malta, Portugal, Greece etc for a fortnights holiday. Benidorm has superb golden sandy beaches which have been awarded the blue flag, meaning: clean and safe. The Costa Blanca is an all year round resort due to its fabulous climate, where the weather is hot in the summer months and mild at winter time. It is an affordable destination where eating out is very cheap, and as for entertainment, Benidorm has it all. You can dance till dawn in one of the glitzy vibrant night clubs or dine in more serene settings in a bar close to the sea. Star attraction for the kiddies to visit in this Spanish town is the Mundomar zoo showing sea lion and dolphin shows daily. Another Benidorm attraction is the Terra Natura, a theme park that explores the natural world, and for the avid golf enthusiast, how about a round of golf on one of the Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses. One of the tallest buildings throughout Europe is the 600ft Gran Hotel Bali. This holiday hotel is located more to the area of Cala De Finestrat. Police patrol is very strong in and around the area of Benidorm (Even on the beach) which can be off putting for folk. Some people believe it is because of the violence that this - is why the Spanish police operate the way they do, whereas in contrast, the fact is, police are a great deterrent to those wishing to commit a crime, so therefore leaving the holiday maker feeling safer and secure. Spain remains the most popular destination for British holidaymakers, with about 16 million visitors each year. Common sense prevails when going abroad. A robber's intention is to take what rightfully belongs to you, so it is important to take all the necessary precautions to hold onto your valuables. Some criminals find it easier to rob the tourist because they see them as easy picking opportunities. In other words you're Jewelry and money is handed to them on a plate because ignorance prevailed on your part to lock away your valuables. Before travelling to a foreign country do some research on the resort/region you are heading too. How safe is Benidorm for families, well in all honesty it is just as safe as to where you may live at present. Do not be put off boarding the plane for Alicante airport for a holiday of a lifetime.
