This is at about twenty years old for a normal person and earlier for a person that has a colon cancer family history. The risk status is very important because it can determine when screening for colon cancer should start and what tests are the most appropriate for that person. Risk stratification is nother of the clinicians must do' s. This can be very easily done by asking some questions that can determine the persons risk factors for colon cancer. If the person has had adenomatous polyps or colon cancer, if the person suffers from any medical conditions that may predispose him to colon cancer or if there is any colon cancer family history are just some of the questions that the person has to respond to for the clinician to determine the risk factors for colon cancer.
