Nowadays, many people have resorted to eBay as a convenient approach in coming up with funds and raising money. While eBay remains to be a legitimate online auction website, it is not a guarantee that doing business with the popular company is hoax and swindle free. In fact, there have been many reported cases wherein the seller of the goods have been tricked by the winning bidder in to thinking that the winning bidder will actually buy the product. The latest victim of the hoax is none other than former Smallville actor, John Schneider. Schneider, who played Jonathan Kent on Smallville, previously auctioned on eBay his restored 1969 General Lee car, a car used in his television show Dukes of Hazzard where he played Bo Duke. Though many prospective buyers offered their bids, the winning bid was awarded to William Fisher with an amount close to ten million dollars. Schneider, who expected the bid to amount to a little over 2 million, became overjoyed when he learned about the humongous bid. He even made plans to use the money for a leisure trip before financing the sequel to his 2006 film, Collier & Co. Sadly, the winning bidder, which appears to be a practical joke, never made his payment. The ex-Smallville actor became devastated upon learning the unfortunate news, opting for another auction company that promises a better screening of its buyers. Apart from Smallville and The Dukes of Hazzard, the 47-year old actor’s acting credits included Hidden Secrets, King of the Hill, Living with Fran, Mary Christmas, Touched by an Angel, Twice in a Lifetime, Diagnosis Murder, Snow Day, Jag and Walker, Texas Ranger just to name a few. In addition, he was also known as a country music singer recorded 11 albums to date and had a series of country music hits like "It’s Now or Never."
