Carlo Rota reveals his delight as a cast member on the award-winning series 24. In an exclusive interview with BuddyTV, he gives details about his experiences on 24, as well as his other projects. Rota, a London-born actor, currently plays Morris O’Brian, the egotistical but brilliant computer scientist and ex-husband of Chloe O’Brian. Apart from 24, he has appeared on numerous television series such as Queer as Folk, Nikita, Traders and Wolfe Mystery. He has also worked in the movie The Boondock Saints. Rota has initially worked as a world-renowned chef under his father’s wing. Sixteen years later after switching careers, he has proved to his once doubtful friends and families that he truly belongs in the entertainment world as he landed the character of Morris O’Brian on 24, a role which he truly adores. As a fan of 24, he takes pride in his work and takes delight in the people he works with, most especially his ex-wife on the show Chloe O’Brian, played by actress Mary Lynn Rajskub. According to Rota, working with Rajskub has been so much fun, as he found her to be very funny and comfortable to work with. Apart from Rajskub, another thing, which makes him enjoy his time on 24, is the fact that familiar and laid-back people on the set surrounds him. And though there hasn’t been any confirmation yet regarding his inclusion on the upcoming seasons of 24, he remains hopeful that he will still be part of the program he takes pleasure in. At present, he is busy with his new project, which is a sitcom entitled Little Mosque on the Prairie. Filmed in Canada, the show is about Muslims on the prairies and how they struggle to fit in the fictional town of Mercy. On the upcoming series, he plays a Lebanese guy named Yasir Hamoudi, who has a wife and a daughter.
