We use all kinds of products made from plastic tubing everyday. Plastic tubing is made via the plastic extrusion technology. Tubing made from the plastic extrusion process can come in various lengths. Such tubing is created from a number of different resins including PVC, polystyrene, polycarbonate, and polysulfone. There are a number of different manufacturing companies that require plastic tubing for their products. Some of the industries that using this kind of tubing include the electronics industry and the medical supply industry. There are two typical uses for plastic tubing. One use is to carry liquids and gases. The other use is for the tubing to carry structural components such as electrical wires. Plastic tubing is even used for surgical applications in human beings. This type of tubing is the medical grade plastics. There are also other types of plastics made that are safe for use with foods, such as the common drinking straw. Large sections of flexible plastic tubes can be made and then cut into hundreds of different lengths. Unlike steel and stainless steel tubing, plastic tubing is a lot more affordable to create. Tubing made out of plastic is highly durable. Different wall thickness in the tubing can be designed. One of the benefits of tubing made from plastic is its flexibility. However it does have a tendency to become crimped, especially when passed through various types of machinery. On the other hand, plastic tubing is the best type for use with delicate medical equipment. It is much more versatile and flexible than steel tubing. The hardest type of plastic tubing is the PVC pipes that are used to carry water and other substances. These types of pipes can be cut to fit as well and will provide the adaptability of being joined together with clamps and other types of connectors. Hard plastic tubing is also used for electrical applications. There is also another type of plastic tubing called shrink fit tubing. The kind of tubing needed for any particular manufacturing firm will depend on the type of product they are creating.
