It’s finally official! 24’s Day Six DVD will be released on December 4, 2007. Although the 24’s DVD set has not really generated much noise compared to its television series, solid 24 supporters are still eager to get a hold of their copies of the slightly incoherent and lackluster season 6. Day 6 mostly centers on Jack’s release after twenty months of torture in a Chinese prison and his mission to recover five suitcase nuclear devices to prevent war between the United States and Russia. Initially, season 6 has been full of promise in featuring thrilling plots 24 is popularly known for. And as an Emmy-and Golden Globe award-winning series, many have expected season six to have exceeded, if not maintained, its mind-blowing magnetism. But to fans’ disappointment, season 6 have been engulfed in a rut, a dilemma producers have admittedly taken responsibility for. Nevertheless, producers of 24 have promised to improve the show’s formula by currently looking on ways to perk up the plot of the coming episodes. The Day 6 DVD set will be priced at $59 and is currently available for pre-order. With the release date set for December, many have been questioning the long wait. The decision to release the DVD set towards the end of the year is actually to encourage positive sales figures and DVD reviews in time for the approaching season 7 (Day 7), which will premiere early next year. 24, a series broadcast on Fox Network, follows the 24-hour period in the life of Jack Bauer, the lead protagonist of the show. As a Counter Terrorist Unit agent, he prevents major terrorist attacks in the United States, saving both government officials and civilians. The cast includes Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, Marry Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O’Brian, and James Morrison as Bill Buchanan among others.
