This setting of this film is the now generation, which could be about present day, or going back to the 60's, or a few years yonder into the future. The characters in the movie are relatively well to do young people, who have ample leisure to pick and choose from the landscape of possibilities. With their own good looks in the fold, they for the most part tend to move into the arts and even their in the moment relationships are judged from the point of view of art critics. There could be some truth to this, in that as society progresses technologically and some people are spared that constant striving towards wealth, the artistic view of things, even in viewing other peers comes into the forefront. For some in this movie, there is too much candy in the store and there the victimization of being prone to excess. And then there is that always available sinkhole of excess in terms of substances that some will fall prey too as the pros and cons of what is available in the real world and naturally just doesn’t seem to suffice. The characters in this film are still involved in a search of sorts, but it is tempered by the quick and ongoing evaluation as to the artistic value which is ahead of the field in terms of how things are viewed. The neon black and white adds to lens that is being depicted, of relatively uncertainty as to how this art might still yet take form.
