No doubt about it, the season finale of One Tree Hill was good, if not excellent. It concluded some things, while leaving other stuff open for the viewers to think about and explore. Recently, the show got renewed for another season. Fans are happy, of course. But what happens when you have to reopen a closed story? The primary idea was to jump into the future, and this is what the show will be doing, even if some fans feel a little unsteady with this move. However, the jump is a good thing in the sense that the cast is too old to play their teenage roles thus it would be good to push forward five years. Moreover, is the renewal of the dramatic landscape against which the stories were told. Now that there would be sort of a "new beginning," for the story and the characters involved, viewers have a new thing to look forward to, and a complete history to back up some of the events that may happen. There are two things that could happen once the upcoming season premieres. Either the characters would stay the same and not change one bit over the last five years or that they would completely change, leaving audiences to wonder what happened in the last five years. During its previous seasons, there was a lot of drama involved in the show, but as one leaves his or her teenage years behind, one tends to get a whole lot less melodramatic. But come to think of it, One Tree Hill is a television show, something that may take reality and blow it out of proportion. Who knows, this new season may have as much drama as the previous ones. Another thing to take into consideration would be the audience of the show. Does portraying the characters five years older equate to targeting a more mature audience? Fans will have to wait and see if One Tree Hill's new season will soar just like the previous ones or would prove to be a flop, a renewal gone to waste.
