Humor allows us to permit go of all our "shoulds" about the way the world ought to be, the way WE ought to be, and for that instant, we get to just BE. We can be in our messiness, our imperfection, our humanness, and not only appreciate it, we get to revel in it! Exposing the shadow demands courage, exposing it with humor calls for courage and adore, which, possibly, is why it is so healing and so valuable.
