The third installment of the Transformers, entitled the Dark of the Moon from Michael Bay is quite a clash of Cybertrons that is actually quite minimal in action when it comes to the severe bone rattling that most Transformers’ fans will be used to. While the franchise overall gets an A+ for action, the latest film in the series is a bit meaner but much learner cut which is ironic given the fact that this edition of the film is actually in 3D. However, by choosing to concentrate on the 3D effects, you actually do get your money’s worth if you pay a little extra to see the film the way it was intended unlike in other 3D ventures. By focusing in on just one type of effect, Bay allows the Transformers to really come to life and steal the show with a heavier concentration on the machines over just a strong focus on the humans in the movie. This time around, we get to see the Transformers as characters in their own right offering up their own dreams, hopes, and their own philosophies when it comes to humankind, fate, and the universe. Other changes have been made as well as main character Sam Witwicky played by Shia LaBeouf is back and has grown up as a college grad moving past Bumblebee and onto to new things. However, even despite this fact when the Transformers come back to life he is able to step right back in and the cast for the most part seems to have a great deal of fun, even Frances McDormand in her role as the grumpy head of national security. One thing to expect however is John Turturro who is still just as crazy as ever in this episode. Notable are clever write-in and cameos with Buzz Aldrin even making a cameo in the film to explain what happened with the moon landing and to disprove conspiracy theories that the moon landing was all an elaborate cover-up by NASA. Of course, there is a reason for this debate as it opens up the story line that explains how Sentinel Prime plays into the history of the Cybertron wars. At the same time, it also shows how the Autobots and the Cecepticons came to be at war which is of course the real story of all of the Transformer series. Almost all of the robots themselves are back again alongside the cast including of course Opitmus Prime voiced by Peter Cullen, Epps voiced by Tyrese Gibson, and Lennox voiced by Josh Duhamel. New this time however is stunning Rosie Huntington -Whiteley who steps in as Sam’s new girlfriend quickly picking up in Megan Fox’s absence. Also new to the franchise is McDreamy himself Patrick Dempsey who plays a super slick mogul that loves Rosie’s curves as Carly and fast cars. Add in the fact that the world is under attack in the midst of all this and you get a story line worth watching. Watch Movies Online
