There was a time when 3D films were newly introduced and when they were screened in theatres one was required to wear special glasses made of red-cyan lenses to get that special 3D effect. The other type of glasses used the Polarized lenses or the active shutter lenses. This ensured that the images were filtered and made visible to each eye differentially. That was probably the first step towards introducing 3D in the screening segment. But 3D in its originality dates back to as far as to the 19th century when it was introduced in the photography segment and many trials were conducted. Some 3D videos that may be developed using certain technology may not give the same effect on a particular 3D TV using a different technology. This may lead to various chaotic situations.
