Awake in the darkness With no sign of any light, I walk within the shadows My eyes closed. Shut so tight. There are no doors or windows No open ground to see the sky, Just me and that of darkness And a lasting echo of my cry. With cold black powder beneath me I walk on and on until I tire, Now here I stand in a different place Praying for light of which I require. So quickly does it return I look on in total awe, From behind the moon comes a glow A beautiful vision of the sun I saw. So whatever happened to the light? Where on Earth did it all go? A solar eclipse that’s what it was Something so natural that scared me so. So why did this all happen Why I was not told? Because my mother had a thought How do you explain to a four year old? ?
