On March 24th, the City of Grapevine and Grapevine Mills mall joined representatives of the new LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth and other special guests for sneak peek of the new attraction, that opened to the public on Wednesday, March 30th. Buddy, one of the LEGOLAND Discovery Center's mascots, led more than 100 children in a parade down the mall corridor to see the LEGOLAND Discovery Center attraction for the first time before it opened to the public. LEGOLAND Discovery Centers are Merlin's newest attraction concept that was first launched in Berlin in 2007. The $12 million dollar, 35,000 square foot indoor attraction in Grapevine Mills Texas is the second LEGOLAND Discovery Center venue to open in the United States of America and the fifth in the world. "When visitors step inside the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth, they will feel like they have just jumped into the biggest box of LEGO bricks ever," said Iain Scouller, general manager for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth. "With over two million bricks under one roof, the children and families that come through our doors will discover a world of LEGO bricks that will create new memories for the kids and bring back memories for the adults of playing with LEGO bricks as a child. There is something for everyone." The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth in Grapevine offers its visitors a fun, highly interactive and educational two-to-three hour experience. Geared toward children ages 3-12 and their families, LEGOLAND Discovery Center is the perfect attraction for LEGO bricks fans young and old. It is made up of a series of interactive features, including hands-on play areas, a 4D cinema, master classes from the LEGO Master Model Builder, LEGO rides, special party rooms for Kids birthday parties in Dallas and other celebrations, as well as the venue's signature MINILAND exhibit which is a recreation of landmark buildings in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex out of LEGO bricks. June saw the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Dallas invite all to Join them along with a special guest, ESPN Radio's "Voice of the Mavericks", Chuck Cooperstein, for a special unveiling of a 7-foot-tall LEGO Brick replica! In celebration of the recent NBA Championship victory of the Dallas Mavericks, LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Grapevine Mills mall joined in the "Mavs-mania" and unveiled their special tribute for all of Dallas and Fort Worth to enjoy!
