With a small hanging strap to sharpen the blade of an open straight razor a man has access to the most efficient tools available for shaving. Going "old school" with an open ended blade requires a steady hand and the nerve to move the razor in a single smooth motion against the grain of the beard to clear away the stubble that has grown in. Not surprisingly only a few men brave the exacting and unforgiving blade of a razor that can do a great deal of damage if it is used incorrectly. With a long and narrow blade that is very sharp the razor is able to clean up even the toughest hair follicles. Used in conjunction with a lot of hot water and plenty of lather the razor blade can be angled and pivoted to deliver the closest shave a man can give himself. Taking the time to slowly and methodically apply the tip of the blade evenly to the skin any man that chooses to use a straight razor should be very aware of every stoke that he makes to cut the hair that grows on his face and neck. Paying extra attention to the motion of his hand the direction that the sharp blade is being pulled in, a man that is using a straight bladed razor can achieve the result of cleaning up his face evenly and professionally. Still in use in some barber shops where a man can pay for a professional shave, the skill at cleaning up with straight razors is something that only a few men will experience in the comfort of their own home. Even though the blades are sharp they are safe to use on a daily basis and offer the best shave a man could ever expect to have. Especially helpful in cleaning up a coarse stubborn beard the razors that deliver the clean close shave that men want is available to anyone that is experienced in shaving and who is ready to step up to the exacting precision of an open ended razor blade.
